Examples of savings and Improvements…

A Devon based Charity for the Blind which consisted of a school campus, charity shops, sheltered
accommodation and recreational sites, were tendering for an ‘energy partner’. Prestige were asked to tender,
and were shortlisted to the final 2. Upon further discussion, it became clear that Prestige’s recommended
strategy was the favoured to the Client, as well as the highly personalised account management we were able
to offer. Subsequently Prestige were appointed as the chosen partner to work
with the Client long term. Prestige completed a ‘tidy up’ job of the existing
supplies, streamlining them all, and then implemented trigger points for future
purchasing.

Savings Achieved: £32,990
Charity

A SW London Theatre had used a consultant previously, however wanted a second opinion. Prestige identified
over £33,000 due in a VAT rebate, along with significantly improving the energy and telecoms solutions.

Savings Achieved: £48,000PA
Theatre

A group of hotels in the Lake District  were already using a consultant. The owner had heard of Prestige and
wanted a second opinion. After the initial review it transpired that the existing consultant had been extremely
unscrupulous, tying the client into long term, very overinflated contracts. They had also been calling
themselves a supplier when they were in fact only a reseller! Prestige were able to move all supplies away from
the existing consultant and achieve huge savings. The Client was extremely thankful as would have been none
the wiser had Prestige not been engaged.

Savings Achieved: 58,000PA
Independent Hotel Group (3 sites)

A London based restaurant group were on an aggressive expansion plan. Acquiring an average of 1 new site
every other month, growth was fast. Although the Client already worked with a Consultant, Prestige were asked
to complete a review and give a second opinion. The results were quite shocking, the existing consultant had
been very reactive, with no group strategy in place. Prestige proposed strategy
for the group significantly increased purchasing power, vastly reduced
administration resource, and saved an enormous percentage of bottom line.

A manufacturer whom specialised in contact lenses were significantly increasing their energy usage with
increased volume in orders. Prestige were able to manage this with existing suppliers, ensuring volume
tolerance clauses were not breached and any risk managed as efficiently as possible.  Prestige also
implemented a group strategy streamlining the portfolio. This resulted in vast savings for the Client.

Manufacturing

A luxury 5* Hotel in SW London wanted to see if their existing consultant’s
work could be improved. Prestige completed an initial review and identified
inefficiencies in the current consultants work. There was no strategy in place,
with a large gas contract ending in mid winter which is the time the market is
typically at it’s highest. Prestige moved the supply end dates to
Spring/Summer and enabled the Client to take advantage of market opportunities by regularly informing them of
opportune moments.

Independent Luxury 5* Hotel

A prestigious restaurant in the heart of West London had been using their consultant for the last few years.
Acting reactively rather than proactively, Prestige were able to implement a far more advantageous strategy by
moving the clients’ contract end dates and informing them of opportunistic times
to secure their energy.

International restaurant group

An School recently turned into Academy status was still purchasing their energy via their local council authority.
Upon consulting with Prestige, a strategy was proposed and implemented with Prestige managing the entire
transition from council to inhouse.
The results were significant, the Academy now had responsibility for the energy costs and subsequently
Prestige identified considerable savings to the existing contracts.

Education


An independant restaurant in Covent Garden had been having various issues with their energy supplier. This
was taking up considerable time trying to resolve the issue with no resolution taking place. Prestige were able
to take this off of the Clients hands and resolve the issue on their behalf. The Client had also been rolled into a
renewal contract on extremely high rates. Upon the end of the contract Prestige
were able to secure significantly improved contracts for the Client resulting in a
highly improved bottom line for the Client!

Independant restaurant

A growing fast food restaurant chain came to Prestige for help with their utility strategy. The group was growing
very quickly and the energy and telecommunications had been left by the wayside. Prestige quickly
implemented a group strategy which would stay in place as the company continued to grow. Prestige now act
as the companies’ Personal Utility Specialist, enabling them to focus on
growth.

Growing Restaurant Group (7 sites)

A Bystro were looking to open their first site and came to Prestige for
guidance. The first site was not suitable for their needs and subsequently a more suitable location was
identified and purchased. As the company was planning to grow quite quickly in the next 5 years, a utility
strategy was required. prestige implemented this for the Client. As the company grows, new acquisitions will be
incorporated into the group utility strategy. Thus ensuring all of the new, hard earned profits are not being lost
straight out of the bottom line.

Independant Bystro (single site with growth plans)

A well known football stadium approached Prestige for a second opinion on their existing consultant’s work.
Prestige identified that the incumbent consultant was not acting in the best interests of the Client and
subsequently considerable improvements could be made by Prestige. Prestige put in place ‘trigger points’ with
the Client, meaning if the market hits a certain point Prestige would inform them
and the Client could secure new contracts at that point in time, rather than just in a
renewal window.

Football Stadium


A Devon based Charity were looking to relocate premises. As this was quite a significant move they
approached Prestige for assistance with the utilities. Prestige were able to log the change of tenancy with the
incumbent supplier and arrange new contracts to start as of the date the lease was signed. This meant the
Charity did not incur any high out of contract rates and were able to focus on the move rather than the utilities!

Charity

A new cocktail bar concept were opening a new site in a shopping complex.
The Client looked to Prestige to assist with installing phone lines and
electricity meters. Prestige managed this from start to finish, ensuring the
supply contracts were also best placed for the Client.

A tennis club had been managing their utilities to the best of their ability. The supply contracts were always
renewed on time, however with little guidance on whether the best deal was being secured other than from the
suppliers! Prestige completed a review and established considerable savings. It was also evident that suppliers
were not always being completely open about extra charges the Client would incur outside of their unit rates.
Prestige now manage this on the Clients’ behalf, ensuring the client is aware of all costs involved from any offer
received.

Sporting Facility

A group of car show rooms and garages were engaged with Prestige. They currently managed all of the
telecoms and energy internally via Operations and Telecoms Directors. Although proactive with the
management, the Directors’ expertise in the services were still very limited. The Operations Director had vast
areas to manage with the energy being just one of them. The Telecoms Director was limited to the knowledge
of the internal systems and suppliers. Prestige worked closely with both Directors, as their Personal Utility
Specialist. Freeing up their time and providing the on pulse expertise they were unable to have internally. The
outcome was significant monetary savings, considerably reduced administration
burden and a much more appealing tender to suppliers.

Automotive (28 sites)


A care home was trying to reduce overheads and engaged with Prestige. Our initial review identified
opportunities to improve the Clients’ strategy by moving the energy contracts into summer, along with
significant savings.

Care Home

A management hotel group of 33 Hotels were introduced to Prestige. Already using an existing consultant,
Prestige were asked to provide a second opinion on the current strategy. Prestige identified that there was no
group strategy in place, with the current consultant being very reactive rather than proactive. Prestige
streamlined the portfolio, this significantly increased the groups’ purchasing power and reduced administration
time.

Management Hotel Group ( 33 sites)

A fine dining restaurant in Central London had always worked with
consultants. Upon being introduced to Prestige, the Client decided to
continue a working relationship together moving forwards. Prestige
implemented trigger points for the Clients energy purchasing, enabling them to
take advantage of market opportunities. This is reviewed annually and
proactively managed by Prestige, enabling the Client to focus on growth.

Fine Dining Restaurant

A Seafarers’ charity trust had consulted with Prestige after an introduction. Although
the spend was not enormous, to the charity, any savings would be considerably
helpful. Prestige streamlined all 4 sites and significantly reduced the administration
burden for the Charity. This was of enormous benefit and the time was able to be put
to better use.

A College campus spread out over Devon were looking at ways to improve their energy efficiency. Although
already using a consultant, the Client was not receiving a personalised service, nor were they happy with the
response time currently being received. Prestige were able to improve on the current strategy in place, as well
as offer a highly personalised service to the Client, which was of the utmost importance.

College (10 sites)

A frozen food company had been very progressive with their energy efficiency. The Client had a wind turbine
and solar panels on most of the sites. The contracts however, were still only
renewed when the Client had time. Prestige were able to keep the Client
informed of market movements throughout the year, resulting in the Client
securing at a very competitive rate in an unforeseen market dip. The Client had
also been having numerous issues with BT. Although on a very expensive
customer care plan, the account management received was negligible. With a
very complex phone system the Client relied hugely on their communication
channels. Prestige were able to recommend a supplier with far greater service levels and personal account
management. The switch was seamless with the Client now having a named account manager whom can be
reached with one call.

Frozen Food ( 8 sites)

A growing fast food restaurant chain, specialising in Burritos, were expanding
quickly in London. Via an introduction, Prestige worked with the Client to
implement a group utility strategy. This is now able to be followed as the company
grows, with Prestige managing all new sites utilities’.

Fast Food group (7 sites and growing)


A Client had purchased a property to develop and turn into 5 pop up restaurants. Prestige assisted with energy
and telecoms infrastructure, along with ensuring all supply contracts were suitable for the new development.
Taking into account unknown consumption and volume tolerance clauses.

Property Management

A London based Church requested a review as part of their initiative to cut
costs and increase fundraising. Prestige were able to streamline the various
supplies, considerably reducing administrative burden, as well as establish
significant savings.

Church

A Hotel based in St Ives had always managed their utilities internally. Although this was managed, it took up
valuable internal resource. Prestige were able to improve the strategy by moving the Clients end dates, as well
as give the Client back precious time which could then be better utilised elsewhere.

Independant Hotel

An independent bakers in London had grown to 4 sites and required assistance
with the utilities. Prestige streamlined the group’s portfolio, reducing
administration time and increasing purchasing power. Prestige were also able to
assist with profile changes when the new bakery was opened. As the Client
started consuming more at night Prestige ensured a day/night meter was
installed, enabling the Client to take advantage of lower energy rates when it
was consuming the most.

A new aerospace centre had opened in Devon. Prestige were able to implement a competitive fixed 2yr
contract as the Client wanted for budgeting purposes.

Aerospace

Introduced by the Clients Hospitality consultant, a Restaurant group of 6 sites in central London were already
working with a consultant whom was not proactively managing the client’s portfolio. Prestige were requested to
complete a second opinion review. It quickly transpired that Prestige could establish vast improvements. Thus,
we implemented a group strategy, significantly reducing administrative burden and increasing the client’s
purchasing power, along with achieving a 31% reduction in energy spend!

Restaurant group (6 sites)

A previous client was opening a new single site, high end restaurant in Covent
Garden. Prestige were engaged to ensure the existing infrastructure was able to
cope with expected new capacity. The client was looking to be delivering around
350 covers a day once open. Prestige sourced energy contracts with no volume
tolerance clauses so as the client could get up and running without the worry of
being fined for over/under usage. Once open for a year Prestige will be
implementing a long term strategy for the future energy purchasing.
