3. Climate Of Saudi Arabia
The climate of Saudi Arabia is extremely hot and dry.
There is hardly any rainfall. During occasional heavy
rain, wide gullies called wadis get filled up with water.
Due to extreme heat, the water quickly evaporates. The
days are very hot and nights are very cool. In winter,
the days are warm and nights are very cold.
4. Dress of Saudi Arabia
Men wear long-flowing cotton robes called thawb
which is sometimes covered by a jacket or robe. To
protect their head from sun they use a head-covering
called gutra. Women wear long robes called aba.
They cover their faces with a veil.
5. Mecca and Medina
These are the holiest places for Muslims. Millions of
Muslims come to Mecca and Medina on annual
pilgrimage called Haj. A person who has done Haj is
known as Haji.
6. Government
Saudi Arabia is a monarchy. The king is the head of the
government. The government has used the natural
resources wisely and made this hot and barren region a
rich and prosperous land. India has good relations
with Saudi Arabia.
