interval from Event 42 (vehicle dispatched) to
Event 50 (vehicle received by retailer).

recommended for the minimization of the
vehicle delivery system as the truck
delivery costs are relatively lesser as
compared to the rail delivery cost.
8. To minimize the transit time and the transit
time consistency for the each new retailer, the
truck delivery system is preferred because
the truck delivery is more reliable and faster
in terms of the transit time, its consistency
and safety of the vehicles.
9. To minimize the cost that is incurred in the
vehicle damage during the transportation
and logistics of the vehicle for the delivery
to the retailer, the rail delivery methods will
be recommended
10. The vehicle delivery method will be
recommended by considering the distance
of the retailers from the plant location i.e.
Springfield.
11. Saturn Corporations has developed an innovative
model for the outbound transportation and logistics
services in which the vehicle delivery system to the
retailers or dealers of the company has got the
major importance in terms of the on time and
quality transportation.
The truck delivery and rail delivery have their
separate advantages and disadvantages but it is
also evident that the truck delivery method is more
reliable and cost controlling.
