Satellite communication contains two segments: the space segment consisting of satellites that transmit signals from space back to Earth, and the Earth segment that transmits signals to and receives signals from satellites. The space segment includes subsystems like attitude and orbit control, telemetry tracking and command, power and antennas, and transponders. The Earth segment contains subsystems for altitude and orbit control, telemetry and monitoring, tracking, and commanding.
