Financial Closing Cockpit in SAP S/4HANA.
 Customers can start using SAP Financial Closing
cockpit with SAP S/4HANA 1511 or 1610 as well.

 However, SAP Financial Closing cockpit remains
part of the compatibility scope matrix (since the
list should remain stable; note: 2269324)

Existing SAP Financial Closing cockpit can also
work with other scheduling solutions than Redwood
(note: 2391918)
Business Automation Enabler (BAE) is an interface
between SAP Financial Closing Cockpit and External
Scheduling Tools like SAP Central Process Scheduler
(CPS) for scheduling jobs and job chains and integrating of
business and infrastructure events.
Before 01.11.2016 the usage of this interface was
restricted to SAP BPA and SAP CPS only.
Starting from 01.11.2016 it was released for all external
schedulers that have passed either the SMSE or the BAE
certification procedure.

 SAP FCc is planned to become a core part of SAP
S/4HANA 1709 (as opposed to being an add-on to
ECC/SAP S/4HANA 1610) with automatic technical
transition for existing SAP FCc customers.
 SAP FCc is planned to come with a new and renovated
UX (Fiori) – current capabilities remain.
 SAP FCc remains to be a separate license. Existing
licenses will be credited.
 It comes with a new SAP S/4HANA material number
(outside Compatibility Pack), however keeping the same
metric.

Central Close with SAP Financial Closing cockpit in heterogenous
landscapes
 One technical installation of SAP Financial Closing cockpit (on SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP
BW), connected with the entity systems, can be set up to centrally manage the respective closing
tasks in various source-systems.
 SAP Financial Closing cockpit can also be technically installed on a SAP Central Finance instance.
However, it is not required to replicate the entity data into the Central Finance instance – the SAP
Financial Closing cockpit can perfectly work remotely, no need for data replication.
 To allow for scheduling and monitoring tasks in Non-SAP environment, SAP Business Process
Automation by Redwood is necessary; in an SAP environment it is not.

SAP FCc is not only about Closing:
Whenever system related tasks have to be carried out, steps
or results have to be docmented and/or collaborative work
needs to be supported, SAP FCc capabilities are ready to
support.
 Customers use SAP FCc for example to plan, monitor and
execute daily routines like payment and dunning runs.
 Often general, regular reporting tasks are incorporated
into the task lists to be controlled by SAP FCc.
 Sometimes SAP FCc is leveraged to collect and
document certain control activities as well.
► SAP FCc is designed to support Closing – however it
can also leverage far more tasks in the Finance
Department (and is not even limited to it).

Customers who use the Closing Cockpit in
ECC can continue to use the Closing Cockpit
in SAP S/4HANA.
NOTE: 2332547 - S4TWL - Closing Cockpit with S/4HANA OP
The functionality of the standard Closing cockpit (without license) is
available, but defined as "not the target architecture" in SAP
S/4HANA 1511, 1610 or subsequent releases. See SAP note
2269324 – Compatibility Scope Matrix for SAP S/4HANA, on-
premise edition. Thus transaction codes CLOCO, CLOCOC and
CLOCOS are supported but are part of compatibility scope in
S/4HANA OP. The Business Functions FIN_ACC_LOCAL_CLOSE,
FIN_ACC_LOCAL_CLOSE_2, FIN_ACC_LOCAL_CLOSE_3
(requiring a license for SAP Financial Closing cockpit) are flagged
as obsolete in S/4HANA OP.
If any of the Business Functions listed above are active, consider to
use the Add-On Financials Closing Cockpit 2.0 instead.
