1. Problem 1: Error "500 Connection timed out Error" in EPM Add-in
Solution: For HTTP (Non-secure / Non-SSL) connections:
Open SAP GUI
Run RZ10 transaction,
Increase or change the property to PROCTIMEOUT=3600 to the icm/server_port_<xx> ICM parameter
Save the modifications,
Restart BW instance
i.e. icm/server_port_1 - PROT=HTTP,PORT=81$$, VCLIENT=1,
TIMEOUT=3600,PROCTIMEOUT=3600
For HTTPS (SSL) connections:
Open SAP GUI
Run RZ10 transaction
Increase or change the property to PROCTIMEOUT=3600 to the icm/server_port_<xx> ICM parameter
Save the modifications
Restart BW instance.
i.e. icm/server_port_1 - PROT=HTTPS,PORT=81$$, VCLIENT=1,
TIMEOUT=3600,PROCTIMEOUT=3600
Note please review your ICM settings to confirm they are configured correctly as specified in the SAP
help file: Configuration of the Web Dispatcher Server Port
For parameter PORT=XXXX, it is possible to check the port used as follows:
run /nSMICM transaction then click menu 'Goto / Services'.
Problem 2: BPC admin client will not open
Solution: Since most applications use later versions of .NET 1.1 is not needed. Please see the below
instructions.
Remove .NET 1.1
Remove the BPC admin client
Reboot the machine
Reinstall the admin client
Problem 3: Error 401 for some users on BPC web login
Solution:
This is caused by a broken appset. Table UJA_LAST_USER keeps the record of what was the last appset
user logged in the BPC web. If this table is pointing to a broken appset for a specific user, this user will
not be able to logon the BPC Web. BPC will automatically try to log the user in this broken appset.
There are two ways to fix the problem:
1- Fix broken application set or remove it;
2- Use transaction SE16 and delete all entries for this broken appset from table UJA_LAST_USER;

2. Question 4: How to find BPC platform version support information.
Answer:A list of the currently supported operating systems is available in the Product Availability Matrix
on SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/pam.
1. Search on Planning and Consolidation.
2. Once there you will see a chart of the BPC product versions.
3. Select your version by link and you will navigate to the platform information.
4. There one can see support dates and platform information.
5. The platform information is also available for download as a PDF.
Question 5: Run logic while the system is offline
If you were previously on BPC 7.0 or 7.5 and have recently upgraded to BPC 10 you may have noticed
that you can't run logic while the system has been set to offline.
To be able to run logic while the system was offline in versions 7.0 and 7.5 is actually considered a bug
that was corrected in BPC 10. The correct behavior is that if the status of BPC environment is not
available (offline), user cannot change data with all BPC send functions. (DM, Excel, Web report, Script
Logic, FIM,Journal, Business Rule and so on).
If you want to restrict user action then you can use work status instead of system offline. This information
has been confirmed by development in IM#366572.
Question 6: EPM Report Troubleshooting guide - Performance and Incorrect Results
Answer:
The following article introduces how to troubleshoot BPC report related issues using the EPM Add-In /
BPC Web (i.e. wrong results, performance) and provides a list of BPC and BW notes that you can apply
that may resolve incorrect results or performance issues.
Install the latest version of the EPM Add-in. It is prudent to narrow down if the issue occurs in the latest
EPM Add-in. We can know whether it is a known EPM Add-in issue.
For performance issue, try the following.
Check the option User Options->Others tab->"Force Symmetric Refresh for Large Asymmetric Axis".
Set Sheet Options->General tab->"No Data and Zero Values" to "Remove Empty and Zero Values" for
row and columns.
Run Light (Lite) Optimization for the model.
Check if you have any script logic in the default script logic file (default.lgf). If the logic is complex, we
recommend that you remove the script logic in default.lgf because the script logic will be executed when

3. you send data. Instead, you can remove the script logic from default.lgf and then run the package
/CPMB/DEFAULT_FORMULAS separately to execute the script logic.
Question 7: Refresh report in EPM Add-in fails or results in wrong transaction data
Answer:
In BPC NW10.0 EPM Add-in, when refreshing a report/template that includes Time type dimension on
rows or columns for second time, end-users may receive an error popup saying "The execution of report
failed. Please contact your administrator". Or report refreshes successfully, but the report data is inconsist
with the first-time refresh. If checking the http requests,the response is returned successfully, but the time
members are missing from the "members" nodes in the response data
For Business Planning and Consolidation 10.0 on NetWeaver 730(Component CPMBPC 800),install this
note or upgrade to support package SP13.
For Business Planning and Consolidation 10.0 on NetWeaver 731(Component CPMBPC 801),install this
note or upgrade to support package SP06.
After applying the fix, the report should be refreshed successfully on second time. And checking http
response, the time members shouldn't be missing from the "members" node.
Question 8: No error message in EPM Add-in when cube is in load mode

Question 9: EPMDimensionProperty dropdown list not loaded at Refresh Worksheet
Answer:
The EPMDimensionProperty dropdown list is not loaded at Refresh Worksheet.
Please perform the following to allow program to re-calculate the functions settings once:
1. In the EPM add-in configuration file (FPMXLClient.dll.config), set the value of the following key
ForceDetectFunctionsInCells to true.
2. Open the workbook.
3. Reset Excelcalculations to "Automatic".
4. Refresh the workbook.
5. Save the workbook.
6. Restore the key ForceDetectFunctionsInCells in step 1 to "false" value.
