An abstract of my final project in bachelor\'s degree in Mathematics: interpolation and approximation of curves and surfaces with B-Spline basis functions
The document proposes consolidating Delta Air Lines' logistics and supply chain for chemicals and safety products into a single source supplier to reduce costs. It suggests having one supplier assume responsibilities for shipping, storing, reporting and distributing these products to Delta, rather than the current system with 25 entities. This proposed option could lower costs through economies of scale and streamlining processes, offering savings on logistics, materials, and management costs.
The document presents a "Technology Tree" that outlines different technology options across five categories - capturing, conveying, creating, cradling, and communicating information. It provides examples of specific technologies that fall under each category and questions to consider to determine the appropriate technologies based on needs and constraints. The tree is meant to help systematically choose the necessary technologies by moving through the branches in a specified order.

The document contains data from Beribi Supermarket on customer arrivals and wait times throughout the day.
It includes two tables:
1) Arrival and wait time data broken into half-hour intervals from 8 AM to 5 PM on a Monday. This shows the number of customer arrivals, initial wait times, departures and end wait times for each interval.
2) Summary statistics calculated from the first table, including the total customers and average initial wait times for morning, lunch and afternoon rush periods. The average arrivals per interval are also calculated.
The objective is stated to use the data to understand time patterns of arrival and congestion at the supermarket through the day.

An Overview Of World Cat Navigator SlidesSue Bennett
This document provides an overview of WorldCat Navigator, a system that allows libraries to share their collections. It explains that Navigator creates a single catalog for a consortium of libraries, allowing users to search all collections at once and request items from any library. The workflow for item requests is described, showing how Navigator streamlines the process compared to traditional interlibrary loan. Implementation of Navigator involves preparation, configuration, testing, training, and a go-live phase. Overall, Navigator aims to give users broader access to materials while making resource sharing more efficient for libraries.
The vocal folds are located in the larynx, also known as the Adam's apple. They are muscles that work to produce sound. Paralysis can occur if there is nerve damage or an accident, causing part of the vocal fold to become paralyzed. Nodules, which are like callouses on the vocal folds, can develop if a person uses their voice improperly, such as from screaming or lots of loud singing. During puberty, the larynx and vocal folds grow rapidly to keep up with the growth of the rest of the body, which causes the voice to change and become unstable.

The document outlines a solid waste management plan for Balangoda Urban Council in Sri Lanka. It aims to increase source separation of compostable and recyclable waste to 30% of residential areas and 60% of commercial areas by 2010. A pilot project will establish sound material-cycle societies for residential and commercial areas to promote separation. Schools will establish recycling collection centers. The full plan aims to increase recycling rates to 40% by 2012 and improve compost quality. It will also develop a new landfill site and waste management department. The current system and challenges are described, including lack of separation, low recycling rates, and open dumping of waste.
The document outlines key issues that business partners should discuss during the start-up phase of an LLC. These issues include: the purpose of forming the LLC; contributions from each partner; management and control structure; compensation; distributions; tax allocations; ownership transfers; liquidation process; dispute resolution; and entity maintenance responsibilities. Addressing these topics upfront can help reduce risks, increase efficiency, and provide clarity around expectations.
High performance Serverless Java on AWS- GoTo Amsterdam 2024Vadym Kazulkin
Java is for many years one of the most popular programming languages, but it used to have hard times in the Serverless community. Java is known for its high cold start times and high memory footprint, comparing to other programming languages like Node.js and Python. In this talk I'll look at the general best practices and techniques we can use to decrease memory consumption, cold start times for Java Serverless development on AWS including GraalVM (Native Image) and AWS own offering SnapStart based on Firecracker microVM snapshot and restore and CRaC (Coordinated Restore at Checkpoint) runtime hooks. I'll also provide a lot of benchmarking on Lambda functions trying out various deployment package sizes, Lambda memory settings, Java compilation options and HTTP (a)synchronous clients and measure their impact on cold and warm start times.

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.
