SAMI Smart Anoxia
New technology connecting
old treatments to current times
2. Traditionally it is a very expensive, slow and complex
procedure, since it is done manually, due to the lack of
technology in the market. An operator is needed to check
the environmental conditions and oxygen levels daily
throughout the duration of the treatment and other
additional operator to transport and install the heavy
equipment between them. Moreover, special permits
and vehicles are required for the transport of dangerous
gases such as nitrogen, argon or carbon dioxide.
Pest control in the field of conservation of artistic and cultural heritage is a constant challenge
due to the historical and economic value of the assets and the impossibility of using chemicals
given their delicate state of conservation. Multiple types of insects such as termites, woodworm,
moths, wood beetles, booklice and cockroaches, among others, constantly threaten the
preservation of our historical heritage, as well as artworks from private collections. In the face of
this problem, early detection in the event of infestation and periodic preventative treatment are
crucial.
Anoxia is a procedure that pest controllers has carried out for decades as a service for art
conservators and restorers, libraries and museums. Anoxia treatments allow for the total
extermination of insects from any object, through oxygen deprivation, in a controlled
environment, for a specified period of time.
Anoxia
Sami Smart Anoxia eliminates the use of dangerous
gases and humidifiers. It is only necessary to include in
the treatment bubble the oxygen scavengers and
humidity control bags provided in the equipment.
A single operator can travel with all the necessary
equipment to perform the treatment in situ and without
any risk. Sami Smart Anoxia is recommended for both
preventative and curative treatment.
SAMI Smart Anoxia is the technological tool that
revolutionises oxygen deprivation treatments by
simplifying the procedure and reducing their costs and
multiplying the possibilities for applying it. Expand your
customer portfolio now by including Anoxia in your range
of services offered.
The treatment takes place in a controlled environment,
inside a bubble with a polibarrier film that an operator
makes tailored to the objects to be treated. The control of
the conditions inside the bubble is done automatically and
autonomously by the Sami Smart Anoxia control unit,
which is also inserted inside the bubble. It is a small,
innovative high-tech IoT (Internet of Things) device
powered by batteries, which wirelessly transmits to the
cloud and in real-time the information that captured by
multiple sensors on the conditions inside the bubble.
The information available through the Internet on a
control panel accessible anywhere and from any device
such as mobiles, tablets and other IT equipment. In
real-time and remotely, you will know the parameters of
the level of oxygen, humidity and temperature. The
control panel allows you to check the current status and
manage the development of the treatment, days
remaining, identification and sending of alerts in the event
of anomalies... it even allows for reporting to the end
customer with your brand, logo, and contact details.

IoT Technology
How does it work? In four easy steps:
1. Cut the roll of polibarrier film to create a sealed chamber of the size that best fits the elements to be treated.
2. Insert the infested objects together with the oxygen scavengers and humidity control bags and the SAMI Smart Anoxia
control unit.
3. Complete the final sealing of the bubble and extract the excess air if necessary. The router that sends all the data to the
server remains outside.
4. Conditions inside the bubble are remotely checked through the control panel. When treatment is over, all the insects,
whether eggs, larvae, nymphs or adults, have perished due to the absence of oxygen.
Upon opening the bubble cut at one end, considering that they are reusable.
If what is desired is to store the treated object, keep them in the sealed bubble and they will be protected, not only against
insects, if not against all external agents.
