The Shine Adult Member's Council met on October 31st in Peterborough due to renovations at their usual location. They received a presentation on dementia training and agreed to reduce their meetings to two per year, with possible interim email or Skype meetings, due to Shine's financial problems. The council revised their terms of reference and ground rules. The youth council reported on a successful residential weekend and requested a web page. Benefits information is available online. Council members attended an awards ceremony in Wales for a project funded by Scottish Power. The CEO recruitment process was discussed and the council wants involvement. Issues with a small percentage of late health product deliveries were raised and will be monitored. The next meeting is provisionally scheduled for

Report to Shine’s Board of Director’s
10th December 2015.
 Last met on October 31st in Park Inn Peterborough, due to renovation
work at 42 Park Road.
 Had a session on Dementia Training by Jan Stevenson of Alzheimer’s
disease society in Peterborough.
 SAMC had agreed to change their meetings to three a year, but due to
the further financial problems for Shine we agreed to meet two times a
year with possible email meetings or Skype in between. Also on the
proviso that if finances change then we would prefer to meet three
times a year.
 The Terms of Reference and Ground Rules were revised and agreed
by the Group.
 The Youth Council Lead reported back on the Residential Weekend
they had held. They requested pages for This is Me on the web site.
 The Benefits Lead reported that information on all relevant subjects are
on the web site.
 Paul & Kate Steele attended an Awards Celebration held by Scottish
Power at Wales National Library in Aberystwyth in September. It was
for groups that had been granted monies from them for Projects. Our
money was for the This is Me Project.
 SAMC discussed CEO Recruitment process and the necessity for
SAMC to be involved the process.
 There was a discussion about Shine’s Health Home Delivery from
Bullens to SAMC members. Since April 2015, over 400 members have
signed up. There have been a very small percentage of complaints,
such as issues with late delivery. It was agreed that these issues
should be highlighted to Shine, and information sought for future
meetings on how Shine is addressing these issues.
 The next face to face Meeting is provisionally on April 23rd 2016,
subject to the appointment and availability of the CEO. An Email /
Update meeting in January / February to be set up.
