Two Programmes The SaltireFoundation will help create these future business leaders via two routes: Undergraduate Internship Programme Fellowship Programme 100 students per year (5 year goal) 20 fellows per year
Undergraduate Programme Aim To establish a highly competitive international summer internship programme for undergraduates which will develop and enhance international networks for Scotland. Objective Opportunity to gain practical work experience in an international context and increase skill set and ambition of Scotland's students.  Being involved in a demanding project of real commercial significance.   Networking with senior level executives.   Immersing yourself in the culture of one of the world’s key business locations.

Eligibility Criteria To apply you must:  be available for 8 week overseas placement starting mid July 2011;    be in the UK for 4 weeks prior to undertaking 8 week placement (for visa processing, PR activity, networking/briefing events);    not have previous international business placement experience (as part of your course or other);    be in your penultimate year of undergraduate study returning to Scotland for final year in 2011;    be studying at a Scottish university;    be able to demonstrate your commitment to Scotland;

  • #10 We are looking for people who can act as ambassadors for SCOTLAND. Successful candidates won’t only be representing themselves, but will be representing their University, the SaltireFoundation and Scotland. Professional behaviour, an absolute “can-do” attitude and using your initiative will be expected of you at all times – in work and outside of work. Candidates will be selected on their individual merits, with academic achievement being only one of the factors we consider. 
  • #11 With only limited places available for talented students in Scotland, the programme standards are high. Competition for places is extremely high and there are strict eligibility criteria in place. It is really critical that you make sure you meet all the outlines requirements before submitting an application. Successful candidates will gain an invaluable insight into the workings of high-level international business operations on a practical level. You will return energised with a fresh passion and enthusiasm, ably equipped to seize the rich opportunities that Scotland has to offer.
