This thesis evaluates the performance of a UV-inhibiting acrylic resin coating applied to glass to protect light-sensitive materials on display. Samples include cylinder and flat glass with traditional linseed oil glazing or a modified glazing, coated via brush or spray. The coating contains hindered amine light stabilizers and ultraviolet light absorbers to prevent UV radiation absorption. Samples undergo artificial accelerated weathering and are tested at Eastern State Penitentiary, where skylights received the coating. The goal is to determine if the coating can effectively prevent UV transmission across various glazing systems, aiding historic interior preservation.
