Roof Hatch Safety Rail wtih Ladder Extension is a 4-Sided Rail System with ergonomic hand grip side rails, a self-closing gate with no
pinch hinges, and integrated ladder extension rails that will hold steady in the event of a slip during ladder use that
comply with OSHA Standards. SafePro’s steel system is the strongest rail on the market, load tested over 1000 pounds. The rails are
galvanized or powder coated smooth with no joints or fittings to snag clothing, as well as no chains or latches to operate.

Product Description: Roof Hatch Fall Protection Safety Rail System with Ladder Extension by
SafePro™ provides an ergonomically correct grip with an upright egress and ingress through roof
hatches in addition to protection from accidental falls through roof opening while roof hatch is open.
Includes a wrap around self-closing gate mounted on heavy duty non-pinch hinges acting as a ladder
extension. Meets and exceeds OSHA standard CFR29 1910.23 and CFR 29 1910.27. Railing is 42” high
when mounted per instructions on standard cap flashing. Meets and exceeds Cal-OSHA §3212 Floor
Openings, Floor Holes and Roofs and §3209 Standard Guidelines.
Product Selection Criteria: For standard 30” x 36” Model SP-3036 and 36” x 36” Model SP-3636 (in
stock) and all/any other sizes (custom built) hatches with hatchway ladder mounted on opposite hatch
hinge lid.
Type of Installation: New or retrofit permanent bolt on mounting of right and left handed integrated,
prefabricated horizontal mounting rails, ergonomic forward protruding stanchions, guard railings, mid rail
sections and rear stanchions and quick hang gravity gate as per supplied installation instructions and
mounting hardware.
Materials:
Mounting System: Integrated stanchions, no fittings. Mounting holes predrilled for 3/8” diameter through
bolts. Rail is mounted to extended cap flashing holes per SafePro Installation Instructions.
Tubing: 1 ½” OD .083 wall hot-rolled electric welded (HREW) steel.
Finish: Galvanized or powder-coated safety yellow; other colors available on request.
Gate System: Gravity self-closing with spring assist, non-collapsible full wrap-around 1 ½” tubing grab
hold (welded – no fittings). Heavy duty hinges with 5/8” hinge pin with built-in pinch-less gate stop and
pull up full opening positioning. Wraps around forward protruding ergonomic hand grip stanchions.
Hinged on left side – standard; right hand swing open – special order.
Back Cross Support Rail: Standard equipment 1 ½” steel tubing (HREW) smooth saddle joint bolt-on
with 3/8” x 3” bolts and 3/8” tubing connector nuts. ASTM 316 SS
Tube Terminal End Plugs: UV resistant Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). Head Diameter 1.5 in; plug
length 0.511 in, fits cleanly at tube ends keeping out water, pests and debris.
Bolts and Washers: ASTM 316 Grade Stainless Steel hex head bolts 3/8” x 2 ½”, nylon locking hex nut,
flat washers for counter flashing and outside mounting rail. NOTE: 316 Grade Stainless Steel (Marine
grade) offers the highest corrosion resistance available for construction fasteners in or near salt water;
recommended within 5 land miles of any salt water body. MIL NAS Military grade available upon request.

§1910.23(a)(1) require that any hatch, hinged and/or has ladder
access, must have either a permanent or removable safety rail.
(Fines up to $250k)
§1910.23(a)(2) Every ladderway floor opening or platform shall be
guarded by a standard railing with standard toeboard on all exposed
sides (except at entrance to opening), with the passage through the
railing either provided with a swinging gate or so offset that a person
cannot walk directly into the opening.
§1910.23(e) “Railing, toe boards, and cover specifications.”
§1910.23(e)(1) A standard railing shall consist of top rail,
intermediate rail, and posts, and shall have a vertical height of 42
inches nominal from upper surface of top rail to floor, platform,
runway, or ramp level. The top rail shall be smooth-surfaced
throughout the length of the railing. The intermediate rail shall be
approximately halfway between the top rail and the floor, platform,
runway, or ramp. The ends of the rails shall not overhang the
terminal posts except where such overhang does not constitute a
projection hazard.
§1910.23(e)(2) A stair railing shall be of construction similar to a
standard railing but the vertical height shall be not more than 34
inches nor less than 30 inches from upper surface of top rail to
surface of tread in line with face of riser at forward edge of tread.
§1910.23(e)(3)(ii) For pipe railings, posts and top and intermediate
railings shall be at least 1 1/2 inches nominal diameter with posts
spaced not more than 8 feet on centers.
§1910.23(e)(5)(ii) The height of handrails shall be not more than 34
inches nor less than 30 inches from upper surface of handrail to
surface of tread in line with face of riser or to surface of ramp.
§1910.23(e)(5)(iv) The mounting of handrails shall be such that the
completed structure is capable of withstanding a load of at least 200
pounds applied in any direction at any point on the rail.

Product Description: HandsFree Power Hatch Lift System Standard Options: Solar or 110V by
SafePro™ provides fall protection by unlocking/locking and lifting the hatch lid from the safety of
ground level providing a safe ladder climb and egress/ ingress through the roof access hatch. The
system also provides protection from accidental falls through a roof opening by push button closure of
hatch lid, eliminating open hole violations per OSHA Regulation 1910.23. Assists end user with
compliance of OSHA CFR 1910.23.
Product Selection Criteria: Fits all brands and a variety of roof hatch sizes with hatchway hinge lid.
Type of Installation: New or retrofit permanent bolt on mounting on hatch curb back wall (hinged side)
and hatch cover with turnbuckle connector attached to standard hatch manufacturer’s latching
mechanism as per supplied instructions and provided mounting hardware.

Product Description: Provide convenient, cost efficient rooftop access, allowing for ladder and stair
access to the roof from the interior of the building. The Roof Hatch is designed and engineered for use
over roof openings and are secured from the base flange to the roof for durability, safety and ease of
installation.
Curb Construction: Shall be 14 gauge (G90) galvanized steel with durable paintable gray primer finish.
It shall be 12” in height with a 3-1/2” wide mounting flange with holes for roof attachment.
Cover: Is 14 gauge (G90) galvanized steel with radius corners for safety and shall be fully welded at
the corners for watertight construction.
Latching: Shall include interior handle, exterior handle and provisions for an inside padlock.
Hardware: Shall include an automatic, hold-open arm with vinyl grip and compression springs encased
in telescopic tubes for smooth door operation.
Guide Specification: Provide Roof Hatch (specify model number and options), manufactured by
SafePro™. Roof Hatch shall be fabricated from 14 gauge (G90) galvanized steel on both hatch cover
as well as the liner. For smooth operation of the cover, provide compression springs encased in
zinc-plated telescopic tubes. Furnish an automatic hold-open arm with vinyl grip. For safety and added
security, latching shall include both interior and exterior handles with provisions for an inside padlock.

Product Selection Criteria: Free Standing 10’,8’,6’ and 4’ guard rails, all or any size come with ballasted
base and pins for installation. Non-penetrating guard rail systems are composed of 1.5” OD diameter
round steel tube railing sections and are attached to weighted steel bases. Assembled, the system
measures nominally 42” in height with a single mid-rail at mid-height.

galvanized or powder-coated steel tubing. Assembled, the system measures nominally 42”
