LOCAL POSSESSION
AUTHORITY (LPA)
PROTECTION
In exception to NPR 709, Railway Track Signal
protection must be placed at the limit of the LPA at
Strathfield.
WORKSITE PROTECTION AT
HOMEBUSH
In exception to NWT 302, when it is necessary
for the Engineering Disciplines to carry out work
within 500m of the LPA limit on the Up Suburban
Line at Homebush, the following additional
possession protection MUST be provided for the
duration of the work:
STOP BLOCK – Up Suburban Line
A STOP Block painted white and fitted with a red
flag and a red light must be fixed to the Up Suburban
Line at approximately 12.740km.
Note: When it is necessary for a work train, track
vehicle or plant to enter or depart the possession,
it will be permissible for the STOP Block to be
removed to allow the movement.
Immediately after the work train, track vehicle or
plant has entered or departed the possession area,
the STOP Block must be re-secured to the line.
In addition, no worksites are permitted to be
established on the Up Suburban Line between
the STOP Block located at 12.740km and the
Possession Limit unless established in accordance
with NWT 302.
