Sacropenia is defined as low muscle strength, mass or performance due to genetics, aging, hormones, lack of exercise, nutrition, inflammation or steroids. It can lead to falling, fractures, lower quality of life and mortality. Sacropenia is measured through gait speed, MRI scans or PET scans. Frailty syndrome involves unintentional weight loss, grip weakness and slow walking.
