This document provides an introduction to exploring the nature and purpose of sacred space according to the Hebrew Bible. Sacred space was intended for people to draw near to God and experience holiness in order to fulfill their mission to be a holy nation. While the Temple in Jerusalem no longer stands, the document questions what can be learned from biblical language on sacred space and if there are still ways for people to experience sacred encounters.
