1. By 2014 , Reduced numbers of children migrate from
rural to urban settings through improved cooperation and
provision of referral services from LGIs , communities and
NSAs in the project areas.
2. By 2014, protection of migrant children has been
improved in the project areas through increased
monitoring , reporting and service activities of LGIs and
NSAs.
RUCMP Project Objectives
1.1. By 2014, Increased awareness and capabilities of LGIs
NSAs and Communities on unsafe rural migration of
children
1.2. 34 steering committee at Union /Ward level and 8 Upazila
level SC formed with LGI, NSA and Community
representatives
2.1. 20 ward councilors and 300 members of union council
standing committees on Women and children welfare are
capacitated to address child rights violation.
RUCMP Project’s Results
2.2. NSAs and LGIs established a functioning registration
system for migrant children in 34 LGIs in rural and urban
projects areas.
2.3. Increased numbers of migrant children access to the
services offered by LGIs, NSAs and other social institutions at
the project area.
2.4. Registration system successfully advocated for at
governmental level in supports of relevant ministries for its
permanent inclusion in the LG ordinance.

Major Responsibilities of SCs
• Play important role to provide and disseminating information
in CICs
• Assist in making aware the people on risk of unsafe migration
and creating alternative livelihood options.
• Take initiative in building referral linkage with GO, NGO service
proving organizations for the children are in risk of unsafe
migration or already migrated
• Take initiative to make sweet relationship with LGIs
• Play role as pressure group to realizing CR protection and
ensuring different child friendly services
• Assist in enhancing participation of community people in local
development initiatives
