In this article, the authors and the researchers focus on the diversity that is associated
with bisexuality. The author focuses on different genders, ages, cultural as well as the social-
economic activities which include the pansexual. This article is unique since its resource
packet dwells on sexuality as the main idea and how the sexuality of these communities faces
discrimination and societal challenges. Moreover, the article relates the bisexuals to the needs
of the gays and lesbians which is a major struggle that has led to increased discrimination
under the umbrella of gay and lesbian issues. The bisexuals face critics due to some view of
indecision related sexual orientation as well as their unique set of needs which are also a
result of bisexuality and resulting discrimination. As part of their struggles, the act of being
bisexual is not an identity which would be a root of suppressing or denying their bisexuality.

This article discusses a study on the struggle of people with disabilities and under
the Christian church. The study dwells on research articles that had been conducted earlier
focusing on the same topic. The first article identifies the crucial areas where people with
disabilities are discriminated against. It illustrates how the people with disabilities are placed
under the victim theology where the theology discusses the theological issues thus blaming
and victimizing the individuals with disabilities. These are the major struggles that are
illustrated in this article. The uniqueness of the articles that it dwells on the use of religion on
victimizing the people with disabilities and the struggles that these people go through as they
try to be normal. The article illustrates these issues through the healing of bodies and the

A person has just started a world travel experience, and here they land in Japan where they will be spending a night with a welcoming host family. Everything is fantastic the guest speaks a small bit of Japanese and is able to communicate with them. The guest is invited to a family dinner in their house. As the meal begins the entire family is enjoying the food so much that it is increasing the guest’s biggest pet peeve, slurping the food. Little does the guest know that their pet peeve is a sign of appreciation in the country of Japan. The guest is not participating in the slurping as they were taught that slurping was an activity that was looked down upon by Americans. This is an example of a social faux pas in the country of Japan. Personally a social faux pas that really turns me off is hacking and spitting in public areas. It just creates the heebe jeebes because I was taught social ettique. Can words breach the idea of social ettique, or is it just considered social faux pas?
A social faux pas can be confused with microaggressions. Microaggressions are defined as acts of mostly non physical aggression -- they are common place verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities that can be intentional or unintentional and communicate derogatory slights. Racial microaggressions suggests that people of color endure physical and physiological distress (Robinson-Wood et al., 2018). These microaggressions occur across many different identities such as skin color, body size, mental ability, age, and social class. When a person fits into multiple identities that overlap such as being gay and black, can experience more microaggressions versus a person who is white and gay. There are a lot of words that describe microaggressions, but what actually is an example of microaggressions?
If you have ever walked through Target wearing khakis and a red shirt and automatically being asked to help a customer, you have experienced a microaggression. You were assumed to be in a service role just because of the clothes you were wearing. According to Byrd, some examples of microaggressions include being stared at in the dining hall, asking an Asian person “you must be good at math, can you help me with this problem?”, or when someone merely crosses a street to avoid a person of color (Byrd, 2018). People are not necessarily conscious of these actions. It can be a taught attribute; like crossing the road to avoid a person of color, the person’s parent could have been thinking they are protecting the child from a potentially scary situation like a mugging. The child then learned that they should avoid any colored person on the street. The unconscious nature of humans can lead to some hurtful actions.
Microaggressions can cause a toll on a person’s mind. It can take a lot of thinking to try and make sense of the interpersonal interactions. This characteristic is known as attributional ambiguity. The expenditure of cognitive e.

1. What are the disparities between jail and youth rehabilitation for African American offenders?
a. African Americans will be imprisoned more than their white counterparts who will be given rehabilitation, institutional racism exists, and the system will spend more man hours and time dealing with white offenders than black offenders.
2. What are some social issues that African American juveniles are faced with?
a. Sociocultural stigmas, single-parent households, inadequate educational systems, poor role models, and single-parent households
3. Why are African American male juveniles not offered other means of rehabilitative punishments?
a. The New Jim Crow is our correctional system, which seeks to fill jail cells by incarcerating more black and Latino people who are then utilized as enslaved people in the system for huge corporations and the US Government. The system indicates they are not receptive and will not change.
4. What effects does the existing jail and punishment system have on this population?
a. Demeaning and discouraging—we should fund educational aid, mental health services, and instruction. Providing people with helpful tools, role models, and direction will also help them become contributing members of society
Participant #2:
1. Youth rehabilitation centers should provide mechanisms to prevent offenders from committing crimes but in order to effectively do that the differences amongst AA juveniles and other races must be addressed, while jail just allows for a separation from society to think about the crime.
2. African American male juveniles are faced with a predetermined
perception of being criminals as well as a lack of resources in their communities to educate them on the different career paths & trades that exist.
3. The funding doesn’t exist to provide other rehabilitative opportunities in AA communities.
4. The existing punishment system allows offenders to be separated from the public but it doesn’t provide them with any resources to be successful once their time is complete. Not addressing the underlying issues of how they entered the system as well as how to they can live a successful life after now being labeled as a criminal normally results in repeat offenders.
Participant #3:
1. The youth aren’t getting the proper guidance, mental healthcare and attentiveness in jail. They’re already “written off” which leads to them believing what they’re being taught and increasing the likelihood of them becoming repeat offenders. In youth rehab, you’re given a second chance, you’re being taught how to manage your mental and emotional state. You are being prepared for the world.
2. Prejudice. Are seen as thugs, no good. Etc. don’t have proper resources to get them back on their feet. Difficulty getting jobs, getting into school once released.

The main theme across all these weekly journals is the lives of Asian
communities, specifically the Chinese American community in the United States. The
articles have highlighted the Chinese culture, food, and cuisines, challenges, and
opportunities for Chinese students in the United States as well as the issues of Chinese
immigrants and how it has affected most families in the Asian communities. It is
interesting to understand from the articles readings that in the recent years, as a result of
the increase in the growth rate of Chinese Americans in the United States, several ethnic
districts popularly known as Chinatowns have recently emerged in cities such as Los
Angeles, Houston, New York as well as San Francisco. Chinese American
businesspeople have also emerged in these towns offering services like Chinese
education programs, classes, and advice to both the middle-class and the immigrants.
This is a clear indication of the involvement of the ethnic economy from the diverse
Chinese American communities.
The journals have also established that a substantial number of members of the
Chinese population in the United States have experienced a great deal of upward
mobility. The authors have approached this aspect of the Chinese community from a
distinct perspective and asses the manner in which such mobility was made possible. The
readings have also made a clear observation that research studies, as well as statistics
conducted, indicate that the whole community of the Chinese population in the US has
been successful at a rapid pace when compared to other ethnic populations. This success
has been attributed to the internal workings as well as the inner dynamics of the Chinese
American community. Further, the journals have also outlined that as a result of
hostilities together with violence the Chinese immigration had been slowed down and the
immigrants had been forced out of the job market. Before the Second World War,
ethnicity tended to determine most social relationships more than class.
More so, the interesting aspect of the journals is that the authors have used class
evaluation to reveal the other side of the Chinese communities’ experiences apart from
the mobility success that has been achieved. The readings have included the challenges
of normal day survival of the Chinese students, laborers as well as entrepreneurs and how
this has affected their position in the social hierarchy. The great amount of immigrant
workers inflow has allowed the expansion of the Chinese economy, in which the business
people can be able to maintain their advantage and compete favorably with the other

In this study of Walker-DeVose talks about race that’s critical such as how African Americans and White students at a PWI are diverse. He also talks about how Blacks interact with each other. He says when blaack and white socialize its common to say their post-racial environment. In his study he suggest that students of any race recognize the persistence of the racial discrimination.
This source could be a good source for my paper because it has aspects that talks more about race and how they interact on campus and each other. I think this article by far the best one I found because it get in depth with race discrimination in organziations , campuses, and each other. The goal of this source is to inform people on what goes on with each race and people who try to engage with people.

If parents are apart of the GLBT their children become targets because of them and it affects their ability and focus at school.
This source I feel like wouldn’t be reliable for my paper but it could be a little useful. It could shape my paper in a way that could change my paper. Poverty is the state of lacking something. Personally, I view poverty as the lack of ability in monetary terms. This is conveyed about by, one being declared bankrupt or unemployment or even one being lazy. These factors have led to people reoccupying their households and dwelling in the slums.
Not everyone though, who lives in the slums is poor and not everyone who also lives well is rich. From what I have learned, everyone who lives below one Dollar a day is poor.The Search

Also, poverty girdles inadequate security, lack of a voice or say, low opportunity and capacity to better one’s livelihood, poor access to sanitation and clean water, and low levels of education and health.
Poverty is measured as either relative poverty or absolute poverty also known as extreme poverty. The Copenhagen Declaration focuses only on absolute poverty. Absolute poverty is the condition brought about by severe lack of basic human needs. These are food, clothing, shelter and security. Education, health and information are also included.
Absolute poverty is the state where one lives below one Dollar a day and relative poverty is the state by which one lives below two Dollars a day.
Relative poverty on the other hand is the state in which an individual lives within a society. This varies in most countries, but as stated above, anyone who lives below two Dollars a day is termed to be relatively poor.
According to a survey conducted by the World Bank Development Indicators in 2008, 12% of the world’s population are extremely poor. This means that these people live below one Dollar a day. 8% of the same population lived on 1.25 Dollars a day, 6% at 1.45 Dollars and 14% at 2 Dollars a day. This means that 28% of the world’s population are relatively poor. Generally, less than 80% of the population live below 10 Dollars a day.
The main causes of poverty around the World are, bad government policies, lack of individual responsibility, power and influence among businesses and exploitation of people. There are more factors like, agricultural cycles, warfare, natural disasters, power centralization, corruption and environmental degradation.
However, each of the causes above has a solution. In agricultural cycles, there are people in many parts of the world who rely solely on agriculture as their source of wealth and basic commodities. Americans are living far longer than they have in the past, with the average age of death at approximately 77 years of age (Ryman, 2003). This increase in years can possibly be attributed to our advanced medical findings, ranging from research to cure, which have resulted in prolonging the lives of individuals who otherwise may not have lived as long. With our citizens living longer, amenities for these individuals have also been revamped, including senior housing facilities and additional units included in nursing homes. Furthermore, it is an unfortunate reality that the elderly population in our society is often considered as a burden (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). This can typically be heard when people refer to driving behind a senior citizen or shopping in the same stores. Their habitually slower pace does not always align with our quick-paced, instantly-gratifying society, typical in the United States. The mental and physical health of the elderly can also have an effect on society, with financial resources being allocated for this population, thus further prolonging their lives (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016).
In countries including Japan and China, however, the elderly are viewed with a much higher prestige than here in the United States. Their role within their families, particularly as they age, becomes more ingrained, with the majority of the elderly living with their grown children and their children (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). This becomes the expectation. In these cultures, the elderly are viewed as wise, possessing a knowledge that can only be obtained with years spent on the planet. On the contrary if grown children consider a nursing home for their parents, they are actually considered uncaring and non-traditional (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). Additionally, the Indian culture reveres their elderly population, again often living in joint families. The patriarch in these families is often the grandfather or great grandfather. It is customary for the grandparents to have a direct hand in raising the grandchildren, including the child care and decision making regarding the children (Ryman, 2003).
The difference between the United States and the other aforementioned viewpoints on aging can most likely be directly linked to the pace of society. The United States prides itself on technology, economics and the resulting power. W.

Poverty is measured as either relative poverty or absolute poverty also known as extreme poverty. The Copenhagen Declaration focuses only on absolute poverty. Absolute poverty is the condition brought about by severe lack of basic human needs. These are food, clothing, shelter and security. Education, health and information are also included.
Absolute poverty is the state where one lives below one Dollar a day and relative poverty is the state by which one lives below two Dollars a day.
Relative poverty on the other hand is the state in which an individual lives within a society. This varies in most countries, but as stated above, anyone who lives below two Dollars a day is termed to be relatively poor.
According to a survey conducted by the World Bank Development Indicators in 2008, 12% of the world’s population are extremely poor. This means that these people live below one Dollar a day. 8% of the same population lived on 1.25 Dollars a day, 6% at 1.45 Dollars and 14% at 2 Dollars a day. This means that 28% of the world’s population are relatively poor. Generally, less than 80% of the population live below 10 Dollars a day.
The main causes of poverty around the World are, bad government policies, lack of individual responsibility, power and influence among businesses and exploitation of people. There are more factors like, agricultural cycles, warfare, natural disasters, power centralization, corruption and environmental degradation.
However, each of the causes above has a solution. In agricultural cycles, there are people in many parts of the world who rely solely on agriculture as their source of wealth and basic commodities. Americans are living far longer than they have in the past, with the average age of death at approximately 77 years of age (Ryman, 2003). This increase in years can possibly be attributed to our advanced medical findings, ranging from research to cure, which have resulted in prolonging the lives of individuals who otherwise may not have lived as long. With our citizens living longer, amenities for these individuals have also been revamped, including senior housing facilities and additional units included in nursing homes. Furthermore, it is an unfortunate reality that the elderly population in our society is often considered as a burden (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). This can typically be heard when people refer to driving behind a senior citizen or shopping in the same stores. Their habitually slower pace does not always align with our quick-paced, instantly-gratifying society, typical in the United States. The mental and physical health of the elderly can also have an effect on society, with financial resources being allocated for this population, thus further prolonging their lives (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016).
In countries including Japan and China, however, the elderly are viewed with a much higher prestige than here in the United States. Their role within their families, particularly as they age, becomes more ingrained, with the majority of the elderly living with their grown children and their children (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). This becomes the expectation. In these cultures, the elderly are viewed as wise, possessing a knowledge that can only be obtained with years spent on the planet. On the contrary if grown children consider a nursing home for their parents, they are actually considered uncaring and non-traditional (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016). Additionally, the Indian culture reveres their elderly population, again often living in joint families. The patriarch in these families is often the grandfather or great grandfather. It is customary for the grandparents to have a direct hand in raising the grandchildren, including the child care and decision making regarding the children (Ryman, 2003).
The difference between the United States and the other aforementioned viewpoints on aging can most likely be directly linked to the pace of society. The United States prides itself on technology, economics and the resulting power. W.
