This Rube Goldberg machine was made by Xavier and Bailey to complete a school task. It had to include at least as many simple machines as group members and steps, fit in a cardboard box, and perform an action.
Their initial design was too simple so they redesigned it. It starts with a toy car rolling down a ramp to hit a lever pulling a matchbox car to hit a pencil releasing a pullback car. This hits a lever flipping dominos up stairs turning on a fan when the last domino hits a weight attached to the fan dial. Despite challenges, their machine was the only one that moved energy uphill, and they were pleased with their problem-solving and final design.
