1) The document lists the minimum daily wage rates for unskilled workers as fixed by different State Governments/Union Territory Administrations in India, ranging from Rs. 68.96 in Andhra Pradesh to Rs. 203 in Delhi. 2) The disparity in minimum wage rates across states is due to differences in socio-economic conditions, prices of essential commodities, paying capacity, productivity and other local conditions. 3) To reduce disparity, the National Floor Level Minimum Wage was introduced, revised periodically based on inflation, and recently raised to Rs. 100 per day effective November 2009. State governments are urged to ensure minimum wages are not less than this level.
