About Me
Copyright©2019RoyWalker.Page3.
o I respect how hard my clients work for their money
 It's not my job to take unnecessary risks
 Each client’s investment portfolio is tailor made for his or her specific needs
 I don’t delegate – you get my personal time and attention
o Financial Planning is not just about planning to meet objectives and
future milestones
 It’s also about making sure the 'worst case scenario' doesn't happen
 Optimistic people sometimes don’t plan enough for periodic disasters
 Cautious people sometimes don’t plan enough for long term success
o Most clients don’t have a financial background, or time to research
markets and investments themselves
 But they are smart and capable to make their own decisions
 It's my job to make recommendations and explain the best options
My Philosophy

o Financial Planning
 What financial resources will you need at retirement, to make sure you can live the life you want
and don't run out of money?
o Tax saving structures
 How can you legally protect yourself from capital gains tax, and mitigate future income tax,
wherever your career may take you in the future?
o Retirement/pension savings plans
 Expat employers typically don't contribute to staff pensions – how can you use international
pension plans to plug the savings gap?
o Lump sum investing and wealth management
 How can you put your cash or investments to work effectively for you, beat the rates from your
bank, and still balance risk and return to suit your needs?
o Family protection and legacy planning
 How can you ensure your obligations are taken care of if something happens to you, and how
can you efficiently pass on wealth to the next generation?

Traditional, Consultative Approach
Copyright©2019RoyWalker.Page8.
o Understand the relationship between risk and return
o Exploit the power of consistent accumulation and compounding
growth
o Diversify across asset classes, geographies and currencies

o Stay emotionally detached from the markets manic fluctuations
o Review and rebalance periodically but not too often
o Know when to seek assistance from a professional
Taking Control of Your Personal Finance
Copyright©2019RoyWalker.Page9.
o Not short term speculation
 We are not trying to outguess or ‘time’ the market
o When you buy shares either directly or indirectly (through funds),
you are owning a piece of a business, and entitled to a share of
profits (dividends), plus appreciation of capital value
 The world economy has grown by 660% since 1980
 Meanwhile the total value of listed companies worldwide has grown by 2600%
since 1980
o Economies can have cycles of growth and downturns, but in the long
term global economic growth is relentless
o The S&P500 index (the largest 500 companies in USA) has grown by
2300% since 1980.
