Last week we were reminded of why we are Rotarians and the significant con-
tribution our time and treasure make to the success of all our Rotary Founda-
tions. Our Rotary offers five avenues of service: Club, Vocational, Communi-
ty, International, and New Generations. “Rotary is an important way to do
something for our community and our world,” Myrna Ballard said. She not-
ed, for example, the importance of our support of the Imagination Library pro-
gram. Carl Cates made special mention of the Paul Harris Award, recognized
the Paul Harris Fellows in our club, and offered suggestions for how everyone
can become a Paul Harris Fellow. Rob Kellner stressed our commitment to
education and highlighted the Georgia Rotary Student Program. By supporting
the GRSP fund, we make it possible for an international college student to
spend a year studying in Valdosta. As Myrna reminded us, “Every Rotarian Eve-
ry Year” investing our time, talent and treasure can make a difference in our
club, community and world.
