God calls us to root ourselves deeply in grace by increasing our confidence in His commitment to forgive, love, and transform us. Going deeper into grace means going deeper into fellowship with God, into His love and transformation. The passage encourages going below the surface with God to see what He has done and still needs to do in our innermost being. Going deep with God, we find signs of His kingdom within us despite any shameful things, as He is our healer and savior.

that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

4. OUR ROOTS MUST SINK DEEP INTO GRACE
Two aspects to grace:
God’s unmerited favor – (Mercy)
God’s dynamic power to change us – (Transformation)
Grace is BOTH mercy and transformation.
Grace COMES FROM God.
As it courses through us, it DRAWS US BACK to God.
The more we trust in God and HAVE CONFIDENCE in Him, the more deeply we root in
grace.

• ENDURE:
“The wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers, but the root of the
righteous endures.” (Proverbs 12:12)
“But the plants soon wilted under the hot sun, and since they didn't
have deep roots, they died” (Matthew 13:6)

9. GO DEEPER INTO LOVE
“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have
power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and
long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that
surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the
fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3: 17-19)

10. GO DEEPER INTO TRANSFORMATION
“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday,
ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around
life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for
you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to
your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your
attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize
what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture
around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God
brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (Romans
12:1,2 – The Message)

11. GO DEEPER INTO FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
“For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives
forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high and
holy place and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit
In order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive
the heart of the contrite.”
Isaiah 57:15

12. GOING BELOW THE SURFACE, WITH GOD
You enter a cave that leads downward -- deeper and deeper below the surface of
your life and your day-to-day awareness. This is the zone where your deeper
thoughts, dreams, prayers, and perceptions lie. God is there already, below the
surface. You join Him there.
He is waiting to meet you. He tells you not to be afraid. He knows everything about
these deeper places. He is ready to take you further into the deep if you will go with
Him. “I will show you what lies beneath the surface of your life – what your roots are
tapping into”, He says. “Together we will go together. At no time will I abandon or
forsake you.”
“I want to show you the beautiful things I have done in the depths of your being…”

13. “I also want to show you the things that still need My holy touch, My mighty power,
and My relentless tenderness that lie at the core of your being”.
Deeper we go, God leading the way. “Lord, I am frightened. There are shameful
things down here. Ugly things. Sad things. Things that separate me from You”.
“Nothing is hidden from Me,” He says in reply. “We will stop at these things
together and, together, we will bring the healing, liberation, and light that comes
from Me. None of the things you fear are bigger than I AM. Trying to face them
alone they will consume you. But I am here -- and I am enough to claim your life
back as My Beloved. Behold, I make all things new”.

14. “But don’t these things deep within me disgust You and drive You away from me?”
“No more than an open wound drives away a doctor. No more than a blazing housefire
drives away a firefighter. No more than a crying child drives away a loving, caring
mother. My Name is Savior because I save. My name is Healer because I heal. I am not
afraid of your needs or your sins. They draw me to come to your rescue. I only ask that
you cease hiding and let me love you, hold you, forgive you, and remake you”.
You are now together with God in the deeper places of your heart and soul. What you
see there surprises you! In those subterranean caverns, lit up by His glory, you catch the
glitter of gold, of diamonds, and the sound of sweet waters coursing through your
interior parts. This is evidence of what God has done! These are signs of His kingdom
within. Take a look around and give thanks and praise to Him!
