Romania has a temperate continental climate with four seasons and average annual precipitation that varies by region, with mountain areas receiving more rain than plains. The school is located in the Romanian Plain, the driest area of the country known for its black soil and rich cereal crops. Certain parts of the Romanian Plain feature steppe vegetation characterized by thistles, which inspired the famous Romanian author Panait Istrati to write his novel "Bărăgan Thistles".
