KP REVOLVES AROUND
SUBLORD
 Prof. Krishnamurti found ‘ sublord ‘ - a
portion of constellation based on
proportional division of constellations span
on Dasa system. It is this narrow area in
zodiac ranging from 0deg 46 min and 40 sec
to 2 deg 13 min and 20 sec which plays a
dominant role in deciding the planetary or
cuspal signification.

STAR- CONSTELLATION SPACE
 Zodiac divided in 12 Rasis – 360 Deg
 Each Rasi Span is 30 Degrees. First Rasi Aries or
Mesha and the last Pisces or Meena
 Stellar division of Zodiac – 27 Constellations
 First Constellation is Ashwini and the Last
Rewati.
 Span of each Constellation is 13 Deg 20 Min of
the Zodiac Space

SUBLORD
• Each Constellation is 13Deg20Min in Zodiac
• It is further divided in the proportion of
Vimshottari Dasa – Sequence Starts from Owner
of the Constellation
• This division is called the sub division or Sub in
Krishnamurthy Paddhati
• The divisions are unequal in size. e.g Ketu’s sub
will occupy (13 deg 20 min * 7/120) space of
Zodiac. Venus – 13deg20min* 20/120

HOUSE DIVISION & CUSP
• KP uses Placidus division of houses - Cusps
• Cusp starting Deg, Min Sec is important for deciding
the matters of that Cusp.
• Cusp will fall in a Rasi , Constellation and a SUB e.g.
Ascendant at 21deg58min01sec
• Means Aries Rasi Owned by Mars Constellations is
Bharani owned by Venus and the SUBLORD area is
ruled by SATURN
• The Cuspal sublord decides whether to give results
and to what extent about the Cusp

CUSPAL SUBLORD IS THE KING
• Main house Cuspal SUBLORD if signify the
main or auxiliary houses then the matter will
fructify in the Dasa Bhuki and antara of the
significators of these cusps
• e.g 7th
Cusp is the main cusp for marriage.
• 7th
Cuspal Sublord if signify 7or 2 or 11 then the
marriage is promised for the native
• 7th
Cuspal sublord if not at all signifying 7 or 2 or
11 then the person will remain unmarried.

TRIPLETS CASE
• Triplets are born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on
22nd
June 2003 at
• Triplet I at 10.10AM
• Triplet II at 10.16 AM
• Triplet III at 10.26 AM
• The Ascendant is in Leo Rasi and Ketu Star for all
the three triplets
• As per traditional astrology
• Leo owner Sun in 10th
and Constellation Ketu in 3rd
Promises Good Longevity to all triplets
• Sun and Saturn are conjoined in Gemini giving long life to
the baby as Saturn the karaka for longevity is a
conjoining with life giver sun in the house of longevity.

TRIPLET- I
Krishnamurthy Padhdhati - Ascendant sublord should connect to the houses
of longevity 1, 3, or 8 favorably. The lagna sublord should not connect to
maraka on badhaka houses else the longevity will be short/middle
Here the ascendant is Leo
8deg 4 min and the sublord is
Jupiter which is placed in the
12th house i.e. house for
moksha. Jupiter is traversing in
the constellation of Mercury
which is owning untenanted
maraka house 2nd
(Virgo)
Mercury is aspected by Mars
who is on the cusp of Maraka
house 7th
and owns badhaka
house 9th
for this triplet.

TRIPLET II
The Ascendant sublord is Saturn
in constellation of Rahu who is
posited in the badhaka house .
Saturn however is placed in the
Gemini and is aspecting lagna
and eighth houses. Rahu gives
results of its Starlord Sun which is
ascendant lord and posited in 10th
.
Rahu also signifies its rasi lord
Venus which is owning 3 and 10
and posited in 10th
. Saturn or
Rahu is not signifying 2nd
house or
7th
house and hence the maraka
is not operated by the ascendant
sublord.
The 6th
cuspal sublord of this triplet is Venus. Venus in star of moon and sub of
sun. Venus is owner of 3 and 10 and posited in 10th
. Moon is owning 12th
and
posited in 8th
. There is no connection of 6 or ascendant.

TRIPLET III
Ascendant Sublord is Mercury is
placed in 10th house owning 11th
and second which is a maraka
house. Mercury is placed in
constellation of moon which is
placed in 8th
house owning 12th
house. There is no immediate
danger to the life of this triplet as
badhaka is not connected in this
case. Moreover 8th
house is
playing a role of providing more
longevity to the baby.
Sixth sublord which is Mars in the constellation and sub of Rahu. Any connectivity
between sixth house and ascendant makes the native weaker and susceptible to
disease. Here Mars is placed in sixth house aspecting ascendant, in constellation
of Rahu which is strong significator of ascendant through its starlord sun. Rahu in
sub of Saturn gives indication on the nature of disease. This triplet is crippled and
could not walk properly till today.

CUSPAL SUBLORD – DECIDES THE
QUANTUM
 The benefits are enjoyed by the client only when the
cuspal sub lord promises. Analogy - ‘In order to fetch
the water in bucket from well, Water must be in the
well first’
 How Much?- Analogy – Whether water is a bucket full
or tumbler full or only a glass full.
 Quantum is also decided by Cuspal SUBLORD.
 Cuspal Sub if signifies main and auxiliary houses all
then the full quantum else proportionate

Cusp decides the Finance for the Chart
Natal/Horary
• 2nd
Sub signifies 2, 6 and 11 all and not connected
to 1 and 5 then Native is a Billionaire.
• 2nd
Sub Signify 2 and 6 or 2 and 11 = Millionaire

Sub Signify 2 or 6 or 11 – Reasonable finance

KP RULE FOR PLANETARY
SIGNIFICATION
 Planet is the Source, Constellation Lord by
ownership and placement shows the Result and
SUB LORD is the decider of the event
 The results are good if the sub is connecting to
houses harmonious to the matter
 Results are bad if sub is connecting to negative
houses to the matter

PLANETS UNDER DICTATE OF ITS
SUB
• Planet by position or ownership of houses will
give results- Traditional Astrology
• Planet will give the result of constellation lord by
placement and ownership of houses.
• e. g In a period of a planet if it indicates 4 and 11
house and Venus connection by Dasa Lord and
its constellation lord – Vehicle is promised.
• Sub of the Dasa Lord if connected to 4 or 11 then
Native will possess a Vehicle
• Sub of Dasa Lord if connected to 3 or 12 then the
Native will part with the Vehicle

CASE FOR PLANETARY SUB’S
ROLE

DBA -RAHU/VEN/SAT
 Dasa lord Rahu conj.
With Mer in 6th.
 There are planets in Rahu
constellation
(sat,moon,mer and ketu)
hence Rahu is weak
significator of 3,
mer(3,12,9)
 Rahu’s const. lord is Ven-
8th = trouble but good for
longevity. It is owning
untenanted lagna , hence
strong for longevity.
 -- Rahu is in the Sub of
moon the lord of 10th
house. It is placed in 8th
house but not connected
with maraka and badhaka.
Full Longevity

BHUKTI - VENUS
 Bhukti lord Venus
signifies Ascendant and
eight both longevity
houses. It is in
constellation of Mars
owning tenanted maraka
house 7th and untenanted
maraka house 2nd.
Though signifies danger
but placed in 8th indicates
it will ward off.
 Venus is in sub of Ketu ,
Ketu is placed on the
Ascendant Cusp
harmonizing with
Longevity to the Chart.
Ketu in sign of Venus
placed in 8th
.

ANTARA- SATURN
 Saturn is the sublord ,
the planet which is in 8th
which increases longevity.
Sat is strong to give results
as no one in its star. Sat is
owning 4 and 5 strongly.
Sat in star of Rahu good for
longevity but connecting to
Mars 2,7 and 8.
 Sublord of Saturn is Venus
which is in 8th and owning
lagna , hence Saturn antara
is good for longevity. Mars
will try to pose a threat to
the longevity but Venus the
sub will protect the life of
the Govt.

POSITIVE & NEGATIVE TOGETHER
 If the cuspal sublord signifies Main or auxiliary
houses then the matter regarding the main house
will fructify
 If CSL is Signifying negative houses then the
matter will not fructify
 If CSL signify both Harmonious and Non-
Harmonious houses then?
 Both the events happen

BOTH- IN RESPECTIVE SUB
PERIODS
 e. g . 7th
Sublord signifies 7 and 6th
; 2nd
and 1st
then marriage and divorce/seperation both
are stored for the native.
 In the period/sub-period of planet which
signify 2, 7 he will marry and in the sub-
period of 1, 6 there will be separation.

 If 10th
sub indicate 10, 9 and 6 and 5 both
getting and leaving the job is indicated
 Period/sub-period of 10, 6 native will join and
in the period/sub-period of 9 and 5 he will
leave.

MIXED RESULTS
 In some cases we get mixed results when CSL
signify positive and negative houses.
 e.g. 2nd
CSL signifying 2 & 1 ; 6 & 5 will give
money to native but not to the extent which is
would have got if CSL connects only to 2 and 6

CSL & DBA
 CSL promise and DBA operation both needed for
fructification of the event
 If CSL is promising but the DBA are over before
the birth or will operate after the Longevity then
the matter will not fructify
 CSL not promising but DBA strongly indicate the
matter – (Common Case for making errors)-
Matter will not fructify

NEW AREAS FOR THE SUB
 Sublord of one house say Venus is also sublord
for other houses. Does it become significator of
other houses?
 e.g CSL of 2nd
is Venus is also sub of 12th
and 1st
.
Does Venus connects 2 and 12 houses. i.e. the
native will earn and spend?
 The matter needs more research and will
be included in new areas of research at
KPAF

SUB’S STARLORD
 KP rule is planet being source, constellation lord gives
result and sub is the decider. If planet’s sub agrees
then only we can confirm the results of planet and its
constellation lord.
 However, New Four Step Theory considers sub as not
decider but significator. Moreover, Planet’s Sub’s
Starlord is also considered as Significator.
 The matter is already undergoing research at
KPAF

PLANET IN SELF CONSTELLATION
 If Planet is in Self Constellation then one school
of thought replaces Const. lord by its sub and sub
by sub-sub
 e.g if Venus is in Venus constellation and
Mercury sub and Mars sub-sub then it is
 Venus-Mer-Mar i..e Venus in star of Mercury in
sub of Mars.
 If the Constellation and sub is same then replace
sub by sub-sub

SUB DECIDING RPS?
 Ruling Planets is the magic stick in
Krishnamurthy Padhdhati
 How to Choose if there are many Ruling Planets?
 RPs which are in favorable sub to the matter will
give results. RPs which are in sub negating the
houses under consideration or even neutral
houses will not give results.

SUB’S ROLE IN HORARY
 If Cuspal Sub’s star is Retrograde planet then in
Horary the matter will not fructify.
 However, if sub is retrograde then?
 Matter does fructify when the retrogression is over
and the planet comes back to same deg in direct
motion.
 If Sub is RETRO and has no planets in its
constellation or it is in self constellation then the
matter will not fructify. (Ref. A&A Sept.1970
P.19)

SHALL WE GO TO SUB-SUB?
 New theories like cuspal interlinks depends on
Cuspal sub-sub.
 However in pure application of KP the SUB IS
THE KING AND SUPREME AUTHORITY to
decide the Capability and Quantity in case of
Cuspal sub and allowing event to happen in case
of Planetary Sub. It also helps in RP filtration
which is the master key of KP
