This document outlines the roles and purposes of various IT positions within an organization. It describes positions such as VP of Systems & IT who is responsible for developing and implementing IS plans and information security practices. It also describes the Head of SAP Projects who implements SAP across all locations to ensure best practices. Other roles discussed include SAP administrators, core team members, programmers and heads of infrastructure, networking and security who all work to plan, implement and maintain the IT systems.

1. Role :
Purpose & Role of VP – SYSTEMS & IT (SR)
 Develop IS plans to facilitate Best Practices
 Implement IS Plans
 Implement appropriate Information Security practices.
 Evaluate & recommend solutions to enhance IT
productivity.
Purpose : To drive business process improvements
through implementation of integrated
common IT solutions for RBIC

2. Role :
Purpose & Role of Head – SAP Projects (ABS)
 Implement single instance of SAP across all RBIC
locations, ensuring best business practices.
 Roll out SAP for new locations.
 Ensure Customer (User) Satisfaction.
 Ensure Benefits from SAP Implementation.
 Implement & maintain SAP security measures including
Change management.
Purpose : Ensure Best Practices through SAP Projects

3. Role :
1. Provide SAP System Administration Support.
2. Monitor SLA with vendors w.r.t . SAP servers,SAP& DB
3. Implementation of IT infrastructure w.r.t SAP H/W, connectivity
4. SAP license & User authorizations control as per Bosch norms.
5. Implement ISMS procedures/business continuity measures w.r.t
SAP infrastructure.
Purpose & Role of SAP Administration (BASIS)
(SPJ/DG)
Purpose : To provide systems & administrative support wrt
SAP (Servers,OS,SAP & DB)

4. Role :
Purpose & Role of Core Team Member – SAP Projects
 Finalize & Configure Business Process in SAP.
 Prepare functional specification for ABAPers
 Integration testing & QA
 Resolve open issues & record learnings
 Train End users in SAP Business Processes.
 Prepare & Maintain Systems Documentation.
Purpose : Implement & Maintain SAP Module(s)

5. Role :
Purpose & Role of ABAP Programmer ( TBA)
 Develop customized reports/queries as per functional
specifications laid by the SAP core team members
 Develop adhoc queries & reports as per user requirement
 Modifications to existing systems/programs based on
approved change requests/ QA findings
 Record learnings.
 Prepare & Maintain Software Documentation.
Purpose : Development & Maintenance of ABAP
programs as per Functional Specifications

6. Role :
1. Provide user support at all RBIC locations in respect of IT
infrastructure.
2. Plan, Implement and maintain IT infrastructure in line with
Bosch guidelines
3. Ensure best practices in security and business continuity .
4. Implement Mailing,Messaging and Collaborative Solution
Purpose & Role of Head-IT Infrastructure (TBA)
Purpose : To plan and manage IS resources of RBIC and
ensure their optimal use.

7. Role :
1. Implement & maintain Network( WAN/LAN) infrastructure
as per Bosch norms.
2 Implement ISMS policies/procedures at all locations of
RBIC
3. Incidence management & reporting.
4. Ensure & Maintain BCN connectivity in respect of relevant
business applications.
5. Implement & maintain RBIC intranet (BGN Roll out).
Purpose & Role of Networking & Security Manager (AJ)
Purpose : To implement and manage the Network(WAN/LAN)
infrastructure at RBIC; evolve & implement ISMS policies

8. Role :
1. Proactively monitor N/w traffic & Ensure availability of
RBIC N/w connectivity across all locations .
2. Ensure fulfillment of SLA between RBIC & the N/W service
providers
3. Implement & maintain all security policies/rules on the
N/w.
4. Log analysis of network components
5. Update & maintain N/W diagram for all locations
Purpose & Role of Network administrator (TBA)
Purpose :To monitor the Network infrastructure(WAN,
LAN) & ensure its availability, uptime & optimal use .

9. Role :
1. Ensure fulfillment of SLA between RBIC & FMS/AMC
service providers
2. Implement & provide mailing & messaging solutions to all
RBIC locations.
3. In charge of management of IT assets including S/W
licenses
4. Periodic back-up of all Non-SAP servers at Data center.
5. Ensure appropriate Virus protection.
Purpose & Role of Data centre Administrator (TBA)
Purpose :To provide administrative support at the Data
center in respect of FMS, asset management, mailing,
messaging, anti virus management.

10. Role :
1. Identify & prioritize Information requirements of users
2. Evaluate/deploy/Develop appropriate software application
to meet the above needs.
3. Implement the solution over RBIC intranet.
4. Provide User training & hand holding in respect of the
applications developed/deployed.
5. Prepare & maintain Systems/software documentation.
Purpose & Role of Analyst-programmer-Collaborative
Solutions (TBA)
Purpose : To optimise IT utilization thru deployment of
appropriate software applications over RBIC intranet .
