Parts
Make	
  sure	
  that	
  you	
  have	
  received	
  all	
  3-­‐D	
  printed	
  parts.
• Attach	
  MG996R	
  servo	
  to	
  each	
  side	
  panel	
  as	
  shown	
  on	
  the	
  picture
Use	
  4	
  screws	
  and	
  nuts	
  that	
  came	
  with	
  the	
  kit
• Attach	
  two	
  stepper	
  motors	
  to	
  the	
  bottom	
  deck	
  using	
  two	
  screws	
  for	
  each	
  motor	
  as	
  
shown	
  on	
  the	
  picture	
  below.
Do	
  not	
  cut	
  stepper	
  motor	
  wires	
  yet.	
  You	
  will	
  see	
  how	
  long	
  wire	
  you	
  need	
  when	
  you	
  have	
  all	
  parts	
  in	
  place.
Note	
  how	
  blue/red	
  and	
  black/green	
  pairs	
  are	
  twisted.	
  It	
  helps	
  to	
  minimize	
  electromagnetic	
  interference.

  Pi	
  and	
  a	
  screen
• Attach	
  Raspberry	
  Pi	
  with	
  the	
  screen	
  assembled

• Attach	
  all	
  parts	
  to	
  the	
  other	
  panel	
  and	
  secure	
  with	
  clips	
  as	
  shown	
  on	
  
the	
  picture
• Attach	
  bottom	
  deck	
  to	
  the	
  body	
  using	
  
two	
  screws	
  on	
  each	
  side.
• Insert	
  a	
  screw	
  and	
  a	
  nut	
  into	
  each	
  wheel.
• Attach	
  wheels	
  to	
  the	
  stepper	
  motors	
  and	
  
tighten	
  the	
  screws.
The	
  motors	
  supply	
  a	
  significant	
  torque	
  to	
  the	
  wheels.	
  Please	
  
tighten	
  the	
  screws	
  well.
• Attach	
  arms	
  to	
  the	
  servos	
  with	
  screws	
  and	
  a	
  star	
  connector.
Do	
  not	
  tighten	
  the	
  screws	
  yet.	
  You	
  need	
  to	
  find	
  a	
  middle	
  servo	
  position	
  first	
  – you	
  will	
  need	
  to	
  assemble	
  
all	
  electronics	
  for	
  that.

Roby assembly

  • 2. Prior  to  following  this  step-­‐by-­‐step  guide,  please  make  sure  that:   • You  have  reviewed  Roby  Electronics  User  Manual  and  familiar  with  all   electronic  parts. A  2.5  hex  and  a  Phillips  screwdrivers  are  the  only  tools  you  will  need  to  assemble  Roby.    
  • 3. Clamps Wheels Body   Parts Make  sure  that  you  have  received  all  3-­‐D  printed  parts.
  • 4. • Attach  MG996R  servo  to  each  side  panel  as  shown  on  the  picture Use  4  screws  and  nuts  that  came  with  the  kit
  • 5. • Attach  two  stepper  motors  to  the  bottom  deck  using  two  screws  for  each  motor  as   shown  on  the  picture  below. Do  not  cut  stepper  motor  wires  yet.  You  will  see  how  long  wire  you  need  when  you  have  all  parts  in  place.   • 12. • Attach  bottom  deck  to  the  body  using   two  screws  on  each  side.
  • 13. • Insert  a  screw  and  a  nut  into  each  wheel. • Attach  wheels  to  the  stepper  motors  and   tighten  the  screws. The  motors  supply  a  significant  torque  to  the  wheels.  Please   tighten  the  screws  well.
