Benjamin Perlin
Introduction
 Tennessee resident Benjamin Perlin – who also goes by Ben for short – is an avid
photographer and charitable volunteer. Outside his professional and charitable work,
Benjamin Perlin is a robotics and computer enthusiast and belongs to the Middle
Tennessee Robotics Club.
A branch of engineering, robotics draws on skills from other professions such as
electronics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and nanotechnology. Primarily,
the field of robotics deals with the design, production, and improvement of robots.
Robots can be characterized as having the following four elements:
1. Senses – Robots have the ability to be aware of their surroundings, via sensors
be other technology.
2. Ability to move – Robots are capable of movement, which can be provided via
wheels, propulsion, or other means.
3.Power or energy – Robots rely on power to operate, which can come from
batteries, electricity, or other sources.
4. Artificial intelligence – Robots have the ability to follow a program and think in
some way. This typically is created and set up by a programmer.
