PhD scholarships on offer
By RMIT Melbourne
The RMIT/Vietnam International Education
Development PhD Scholarship provides
eligible students with a fully­funded
scholarship for study in Melbourne from
semester 2, 2015.
The scholarships include tuition fees waived
for 3.5 years, annual stipend of AUD $29,000
for 3.5 years and single cover Overseas
Student Health Cover for the duration of

ANZAC Day service at Pham Ngoc Thach

RMIT Vietnam Pham Ngoc Thach is the
location for Ho Chi Minh City's ANZAC Day
dawn service on 25 April. ANZAC Day marks
the anniversary of the first major military
action fought by Australian and New Zealand
forces during the First World War.
The services in Vietnam are part of the
Australian and New Zealand Embassies joint
commemorations of the 100th anniversary of
ANZAC Day.

This semester saw the implementation of
RMIT Vietnam's early feedback initiative,

RMIT Vietnam's early feedback initiative,
where higher education students receive
actionable feedback by the end of week four.
We recently heard from students about their
experience and found most who received
early feedback found it to be useful for
their learning. But, and this is where we need
to improve, only a low number of
students recognised they received early
feedback.

feedback workshops coming soon.
A new experience
By Student Recruitment and Marketing
Experience Days are replacing Open Days in
2015. These targeted events are for students
in years 10 and 11 and will offer hands­on
program workshops alongside career
guidance, interaction with industry and insight
into student work and life.
Starting with a business theme in May,
Experience Days to follow include creative
(October) and technology (November).

Developing leaders at one of the
country's major corporations

Vietnam Brewery Limited (VBL) is a major
Vietnamese corporation, part of the Heineken
group, and is known for bottling
and distributing premium beer brands.
VBL has chosen RMIT Vietnam’s Executive
Education to deliver its new leadership
program, called HEI Impact Leadership
Program, for its key upper middle managers.
On April 14, the 21 nominated participants,
all senior managers working across all
functions, attended a kick­off event at RMIT
Vietnam Saigon South where they will come
back to complete the face­to­face training
again in May and July.

Hanoi staff are supporting watermelon
farmers in Quang Nam during a current price
drop of the produce, which is seeing many
farmers at a loss. The team will enjoy the
more than 100kg of watermelons purchased.

The annual fireworks festival in Da Nang is

Scholarship unveiled for university students in Vietnam. The Luong Van Can Scholarship
Fund is providing scholarships to study in Australia. A majority of the scholarships will be
earmarked for students who are disadvantaged. Professor David Beanland, a former Vice­

World record memory holder. RMIT Vietnam alumnus Duong Anh Vu was granted a certificate
of a record memory by the Thailand Book of Records after his two­hour attempt at the University
