the diversity of “families”
Key to Successful Deployments
Research shows that families that are well
prepared, know where to turn in case of
emergencies and have strong support systems
deal most successfully with deployments.
A few tips from our families:
• Put contact and emergency information on your
fridge
• Include the MFRC number (fridge magnet)
• For the partner at home, consider unlocking the
cell phone and putting emergency contact
information on the phone
• If you live alone leave your key with someone you
trust, give your landlord the MFRC number…we
will find you!
• Update Emergency Contacts with schools
• What about your pets?

Family Care & Planning
What the MFRC can provide:
•Help families identify emergency contacts for their Emergency Family
Plan
•Works with families to develop their emergency family care plan
•The MFRC, through assessment and availability of resources, may
be able to provide childcare to cover some gaps. It is preferable that
requests for emergency or respite care are made during daytime
hours
•Limited capacity for overnight and weekend care.
What the MFRC cannot provide:
•The MFRC can not guarantee emergency childcare on short notice
•The MFRC does not act as your emergency contact or family care
