1. RILESSIONE SUL VANGELO DEL GIORNO
II Settimana di Pasqua
MERCOLEDI’ 18 APRILE
Dal Vangelo secondo
Giovanni
In quel tempo, Gesù
disse a Nicodèmo: «Dio ha tanto
amato il mondo da dare il Figlio
unigenito, perché chiunque crede
in lui non vada perduto, ma abbia
la vita eterna. Dio, infatti, non ha
mandato il Figlio nel mondo per
condannare il mondo, ma perché il
mondo sia salvato per mezzo di lui.
Chi crede in lui non è condannato;
ma chi non crede è già stato
condannato, perché non ha
creduto nel nome dell’unigenito
Figlio di Dio.
2. E il giudizio è questo: la luce è
venuta nel mondo, ma gli uomini
hanno amato più le tenebre che la
luce, perché le loro opere erano
malvagie. Chiunque infatti fa il
male, odia la luce, e non viene alla
luce perché le sue opere non
vengano riprovate. Invece chi fa la
verità viene verso la luce, perché
appaia chiaramente che le sue
opere sono state fatte in Dio».
Il senso della croce di Cristo è
l’amore: l’amore del Padre che
dona il Figlio, l’amore del Figlio
che dona la propria vita, l’amore
dello Spirito che è il dono stesso.
Lontani da ogni forma di sadismo,
di masochismo e di
autoflagellazione, i discepoli di
Cristo vedono nella sua croce il
segno concreto di una vita
3. coerente nell’obbedienza alla
vocazione di autodonazione fino
alle estreme conseguenze
determinate dalle forze storiche di
negazione e di strumentalizzazione
della persona. «Ciò che santifica
non è la sofferenza ma la
pazienza», diceva don Bosco. La
croce non è un valore di per sé, ma
lo è l’amore che le ha dato luogo,
la donazione, l’accettazione
amorevole delle conseguenze della
propria scelta da parte di Gesù.
Dio, che non ha voluto la morte del
figlio di Àbramo, ma ha gridato:
Non stendere la mano contro il
ragazzo! (Gen 22,12), non ha
rinnegato il suo amore di fronte
alla morte del Figlio, perché
l’amore trinitario non è egoismo
interpersonale, ma amore
traboccante che esce e investe
l’umanità intera, il creato.
