Article 32 of the Indian Constitution allows citizens to move to the Supreme Court in case of violation of their fundamental rights. It is considered the "very soul" and "heart" of the Constitution by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Article 32 provides citizens the right to approach the Supreme Court for enforcement of fundamental rights in Part III. It also empowers the Supreme Court to issue directions or orders like habeas corpus, mandamus, prohibition, quo warranto, and certiorari for enforcing fundamental rights. Public interest litigation has expanded the scope of Article 32 to allow the Supreme Court to take up cases on behalf of disadvantaged groups.
