Application Developer – Senior Software Engineer (August 1993 – Present)
 Responsibilities
 Design, develop, test (unit/system) and support applications that primarily import/export Crawford’s Workers’
Compensation (Medical Bill Review) data between Crawford and their vendors. Applications include:
o Importing/Exporting data in multiple formats including flat files (txt), XML, XLS, etc.
o Manipulate and format interface data for insertion/extraction into Oracle and SQL Server tables
o Programmatically generate XLS files for internal and external clients
o In-house applications that assist with expected data record counts and other support functions
o Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) processes
 Generate design requirements documentation and table specifications
 Create and utilize Tidal (Cisco) jobs for application execution
 Work with Crawford’s server team to set-up folder/file group access, service accounts, shares and policy
information
 Provide support on interface/application issues
 Generate change requests for application, table and Tidal install and updates
 Create set-up files, SQL script and documentation for production server install

 Accomplishments
 Currently have twenty-eight C# .Net Windows Console applications that I developed that are in production that:
o Read interface files and populate tables typically by record type
o Generate interface files from queried tables for internal systems and export to outside vendors
o Extract table records and insert/update records across multiple database schema’s
o Create spreadsheet files for internal and external exposure from table data
o Generate PCL/PDF file for remote check printing using MICR font and barcode 3 of 9
o Read import flat files (by record type) and updates Oracle tables utilizing SSIS
o Read SQL Server tables and updates Oracle tables utilizing SSIS
o Move application and data, apply permissions, etc. from server 20003 to 2012 upgrade (table driven)
o Generate internal record controls for audit purposes
o Produce eBill 835 records for export to Crawford’s clearing house vendors
o Analyze record rejects from Crawford’s 835 eBill process
o Create and maintain global classes used by all developers in group for coding consistency
 Majority of applications run as batch processes using Tidal time and other dependency constraints. Each
application has the following functions:
o E-mail capabilities with start/stop (results) and fatal error message notifications
o Error report on erroneous data and application specific errors (such as invalid data connections)
o Logs application runtime events
o Ability to notify Tidal if job completes abnormally
 Previous development applications include:
o EOB (Explanation of Benefit) generation using Create!form (8.5 million records)
o Tenfold Universal Application platform (Tenfold)
