                                   Abstract
From a viewpoint of sustainable development, the steel works is confronted
with ever more pressing themes with respect of environmental protection,
and is putting important technological innovations into place in order to
guarantee productivity without compromising nature's systems. In the
production of steel with electrical furnaces, even if on a lesser scale with
respect to the overall picture, the process is not devoid of environmental
impact. The principal factor, other than consumption of electrical energy, is
represented by polluting emissions into the atmosphere, amongst which
powders which constitute a cause of pollution, the management of which is
essential to guarantee environmental integrity. The powders are elements of
solid waste generated during the metallurgical processes involved in a
complete founding process, and are transported by the process gases and
collected at the output of the fumes extraction plant. In consequence, the
powders end up as a concentrate of substances dangerous to human and
animal life. For these reasons, the importance and efficiency of de-dusters is
extremely high.
