Adjectives Position Before a noun // As complement after verb To BE and other verbs (feel, seem, look, etc.) More than 1 adjective: Before a noun: we use  ,   only if the combination is not usual. He’s a nice little man (common) She is a shy, secretive woman (not usual) As a complement after be (others):  AND. She seems charming and intelligent. We were cold, wet and tired.
Adjectives Order It depends on the situation but…. There is an order of adjectives that native speakers of English normally follow : Opinion:  He’s a nice little man Appearance  (size, shape, condition):  A large round ball Age:  An intelligent young man Colour:  A green cotton dress Origin:  A German car factory Material:  Aunt Betty wants a square, gray, stone coffee table .
Adjectives General rules: Ordinal-Cardinal:  the first hundred pages. Size and Shape adjs go at the  beginning :  a short new poem We need some small brown buttons. Compound adjectives of  physical appearance go before age adjectives: A tall long-haired young girl.
