2. INTRODUCTION:
• A well-known phenomenon in the world is urbanisation, where a variety of people live in both the city and the
surrounding areas.
• The overall growth of the area is not only in the term of the land use in the respective area but also the growth
of population whether it is a residing population or the floating population in the area.
• Often these populations either depend on the public transport in the approachable limits or may get irritated by
the inconvenience caused by it thus shifting their mode choice from the Public Transport to Personalized
transport.
• The Personalized modes not only adds vehicle to the roads but the greater number of personalized transports
often leads to congestion, pollution and at times being highly insecure for the rider or pillion.
• The traffic load on the major streets on the hubbli dharwad is at alarming situation and is surely going to higher
stakes as there is increase in traffic demand day by day.The government has begun operating a BRT system in
Hubbali-Dharawad, which travels through a popular parts of the city.
• But If users have no difficulty getting to the station, the ridership can increase; hence, having appropriate
supporting infrastructure and supporting methods for the same would aid in improving the ridership for the
BRTs.
• Feeder system is one of the Integration Techniques that have been implemented to attract a greater number of
commuters from the surrounding radial area so as to increase the revenue of the bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
system and to reduce the traffic problems.

3. • Feeder system is one of the Integration Techniques that have been implemented to attract a greater number of
commuters from the surrounding radial area so as to increase the revenue of the bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
system and to reduce the traffic problems.
• Physical integration in public transportation systems has multiple benefits, including reduced travel time,
increased efficiency, improved accessibility, and reduced carbon emissions. The integration of different modes
of transportation creates a more seamless and convenient travel experience for users.
• The physical integration of the feeder system in twin cities that aims to improve the connectivity of the BRTS.
Hubbli-Dharawad are rapidly developing cities Indian state of Karnataka, and its public transportation system
has to be improved further to fill up the needs of its residents. The physical integration of the feeder system is
a project that seeks to address this issue by improving the connectivity of the BRTS.
• The physical integration of the feeder system will also help improve the reliability of the city's public
transportation system. Commuters will be able to rely on the feeder system, which will help reduce the
number of missed connections and delays. The project will also help improve the safety of the city's public
transportation system by reducing the number of accidents that occur due to overcrowding and other issues.

4. AIM: To validate the physical integration of feeder system based Geo-visualization of passenger mobility of
hybrid BRTS.
OBJECTIVES:
1)To Develop junction based of O-D matrix based on the passenger demand Using GIS based techniques.
2)To analyze the daily weekly monthly variations of passenger mobility using NTD and Self-Organizing
Map (SOM) algorithm technique.
3)To compare the efficiency of Non negative Tensor Decompostion (NTD) and Self-Organizing Map (SOM)
algorithm technique.
4)To understand the influence of temporally varied passenger mobility on physical integration feeder system.

5. Outcomes expected are:
• The Geo-visualization of passenger demand of hybrid BRT system project is an initiative that aims to
improve the public transportation system in the city.
• By using real-time data on passenger demand and usage patterns, the project will enable better
planning and optimization of the feeder system, leading to reduced waiting times for commuters and a
more seamless and integrated transportation system.
• The data-driven approach will also help transportation authorities optimize their services and ensure
they are meeting the needs of commuters effectively.
• Physical integration of feeder system will reduce the need for private vehicles and improve the overall
efficiency of the transportation system, making it easier for commuters to travel around the city and
reducing congestion on the roads.
• Improved monitoring of the feeder system will also enhance safety and security for passengers,
particularly during peak hours. Overall, the project has the potential to transform the public
transportation system in the city, leading to a more efficient, reliable, and safe transportation system for
all residents of Hubbali-Dharawad.

6. Assistance from the BRTS:
• In order to examine passenger movement trends, we need access to a year's Automatic Fare Collection
(AFC) data. The goal of this analysis is to provide evidence in favour of the idea of a feeder system being
physically integrated into the transportation system.
• Finding the AFC data would make a big difference in our understanding of travel trends, passenger
behaviour, and the overall performance of the current public transportation system. We can learn a lot
about passenger movement, well-liked routes, busy periods, and possible areas for development by
analysing this data.
• A feeder system's integration with the current transportation system has the potential to improve
commuters' accessibility and convenience. We is capable of identifying regions where feeder services can
be deliberately introduced to optimise connection and simplify travel for passengers by looking at the
passenger mobility patterns using the AFC data.
• Key feeder routes will be identified, frequency and capacity needs will be established, and the prospective
demand for such services will be evaluated with the use of this analysis. We may establish evidence-based
strategies to build a seamless and effective transport network that fits the changing needs of commuters by
utilising the AFC data.
• We guarantee that any information submitted will be handled in strict confidence and used only for
analysis. The relevant authorities can be enriched by the study's findings to help with planning and
decision-making procedures.
• We appreciate your consideration of our plea. In order to advance our understanding of passenger
mobility patterns and realise the vision of a well-integrated transport system, your assistance in giving the
AFC data will be of the utmost use.
