 Set up and ran a Food Bank at my local church, Springwater, Peppard Common

local needs and obtain referrals
 Organised donations, (monetary as well as food donations)
 Organised and set up a stall at The Henley Christmas Festival. The main
purpose of the stall was to raise funds as well as promoting and raising
awareness of the food bank
 Liaised with local companies to receive donations for the tombola. The stall
was a success and I managed to raise over £350, which was spent on Christmas
hampers for our recipients
 Organised Street Collections with SODC and raised a further £500 in total
 Set up collection points in Sonning Common where members of the public could
donate food items
 Regularly checking and updating stock
 Organising food parcels and deliveries
 Keeping records up to date
 Held regular weekly meetings with my team and used PowerPoint presentation
to demonstrate fund raising ideas as well as financial data.
 All documentation including referral sheets, were written up by myself, as well
as budgeting and filing.
 The Food Bank has been used to help over 100 struggling families in the area
Pharmacy Assistant, Day Lewis Pharmacy, H Carson Ltd (6 years)
 Dispensing prescriptions, I would collect over 100 prescriptions, and together,
the pharmacist and I would have them finished in two hours as well as serving
and dispensing customer prescriptions in between
 Dispensing prescriptions requires a lot of attention to detail. Getting it wrong
can have disastrous – and even dangerous consequences for the customer and
as such I had to work quickly and accurately
 Learned the generic as well as brand names for the all the medicines
 Learned how to prepare antibiotic suspensions, and dispense loose pills with
the use of counting triangles
 Advising customers on which medicines were best suited for them
 Supervised four sections of the shop, which included OTC medicines, First Aid
Products, Healthcare and Vitamins, and Cold and Flu remedies.
 Pushing sales for newly released OTC drugs (if the medicine was suited to the
customer)
 One summer I was able to increase sales of a new type of Benadryl by nearly
20%.
