The document discusses the benefits of using natural daylighting through skylights in retail stores. Several stores reported significant energy savings from installing skylights - an 18-month payback period for one store, and 30% and 65% reductions in energy costs for other stores. Studies also found higher sales (up to 40%) in stores with skylights compared to those without, as well as benefits like increased customer satisfaction, loyalty, and employee morale. Relying on natural daylight can significantly reduce utility costs for retailers.
Introducing a breakthrough product model that will help in tapping into a new market. Integral aspects of the business proposition are customer value, low-cost formula, key processes, and innovation. Competing in old as well as new markets. Different retail strategies for both markets.
Performed analysis to identify different customer segments based on their product usage. Divided the segment into four categories and identified growth opportunities for them. Targeting low usage customers by providing them with offers. Increasing usage and customer stickiness. Used scatter plot, stacked bar chart for the analysis.

Cherrpunjee & Mawsynram- the wettest (rainiest) place on planet EarthAmit Ranjan
Snaps from Cherrapunjee, the rainiest place on planet Earth. Cherrapunjee is located 50 kms from Shillong, which is the capital of Meghalaya in the NorthEastern part of India. Meghalaya means "adode of clouds" and Cherrapuji gets 12000mm (12 meters) of rainfall every year. Phew!
Incidentally since 2003 Cherrapunjee has lost that distinction to a nearby remote village called Mawsynram, which is now the rainiest place. Though this info has not been updated in the Gusiness Books of world records as yet.

Over the last two years Powershop has grown from 10 developers and two testers to a technical team of 40. We used to work as 10 separate development silos delivering work to a separate test team. Now we have small, integrated and engaged multi-disciplinary teams of development, test, design and product ownership.
We’ll talk about the changes we’ve made to get here, what we did well and what went wrong. And most importantly what we’ve learned about growth through learning and teaching.

Dear Insead alumni, following up on our #5 One Manager, One Company event held @ Schneider Electric, find additional documents shared by @jean pasternak who was a great host of the event in July. A striking number: 10% of saved energy per square meter in the retial sector generates as much net margin as an 8% increase of sales. To your opinion, what is the easiest target to achieve ? The chicago region's green economic opportunitiesRWVentures
This report, written jointly by RW Ventures and Innovation Network for Communities, explores opportunities for Chicago area firms arising from the increasing market demand for energy and resource efficient products and services. The first part of the report describes the project's cluster approach, outlining the theory behind cluster-driven economic growth and identifying the particular criteria used to select promising clusters for the project. Using these criteria, the report narrows from many green sectors of opportunity to the one--energy efficient lighting--ultimately chosen to illustrate green cluster development. The second part of the report digs deeper into the energy efficient (EE) lighting sector, providing an overview of the industry and its current trends and dynamics. The report ends with recommendations for development of Chicago's EE Lighting sector as well as strategies for regional green economic development more broadly. Also available for download are an executive summary of the report produced by Metropolis Strategies and a copy of Bob Weissbourd's presentation based on the report.

Market analysis is determined to be the qualitative and quantitative assessment of a market based on various aspects. However, the primary aim of the paper is to conduct US market analysis by determining the size, growth, and trend of the market along with customer analysis. 3. US market analysis 3.1. Marketing research
US market has experienced steady growth for five years to 2019 by increasing growth in internet advertising expenditure along with research and development. It provides dynamic and efficient opportunities for companies to operate a business in the US. The US market is the largest consumer market across the world, which possesses the potential to attract a considerable consumer base by fulfilling their needs. As a result, it helps most of the companies to increase their sales volume. While preparing products or services, companies in the US focus on the quality, needs, and expectations of the consumers (Hatheway, Kwan & Zheng, 2017). However, through increasing variety and lowering the cost of the products, the US market provides various advantages to its consumers. It determines consumer behavior by acknowledging that the majority of customers like cool brands. Operating in the US market, companies are required to follow specific regulations like licensing duties and customs regulations along with Consumer Data Privacy Laws. According to the US Department of Energy, solar energy is more prevalent, accessible and affordable than before. Solar-friendly laws have widely contributed to the growth of the solar industry in the US. The list of federation laws are:
Department of Energy Organization Act of 1997: The purpose of this Act is to ensure America’s prosperity and security by addressing its energy, nuclear and environmental challenges through technology solutions and transformative science.
The Federal Power Act of 1935: It coordinates the development of hydroelectric projects in US more effectively.
Federation Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Orders 890 and 1000: It transmits the provider’s requirement to organize transmission planning at the local and regional level. It provides flexibility to methods of cost distribution of transmission upgrades.
FERC order 2006: Its purpose is to address interconnection standards for small generators.
Energy Policy Act of 2005: This law focuses towards promoting energy self-sufficiency and improvements in US. It also includes considerable changes in interconnection legislation.
FERC Orders 819 and 827: This provision deals with the sale of primary frequency response services by sellers at market.
A primary research analysis is conducted with Simply Energy. The purpose of the research is to identify and assess how the company provides its consumers with needed services and also to find out satisfaction levels of the customers. Recommendations are made for increasing sustainability initiatives in order for the company to face current competitive situations.

By relying on natural daylight to light
stores during the day, utility costs can
be slashed allowing more money to go
directly to the bottom line.
Although they are unaware of skylights,
customers routinely travel a little farther
to shop at a skylit store because it seems

Local retailers who adopt daylighting
