I also got admission to a master’s programme (M.Tech course) in Corrosion Engineering course at
IIT Bombay but just after successful completion of first semester in IITB, I received a good job offer
from an interesting company so I dropped out of college to join this company in November 2013. (I

I have gained meaningful work experience in just one organization so far. I have worked for Two
years and Four months (From November-2013 to March-2016) as a ‘Sr. Analyst’ handling
‘Technology-Transfers’ and ‘Technology-Commercialisations’ business at a company named ‘CSIR-
Tech Pvt. Ltd’ (based in Pune). It’s a semi-govt company engaged in business of patents, know-hows
and technologies developed by a large number of R&D labs. (Details are given below)

company and I exceeded the sales target

LIST OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES THAT I HANDLED:
My job profile was to find any ‘communication gap’ between the work of science and technology
research labs/institutes and the needs of industries and then to bridge that gap through scientist-
entrepreneur connections. My role also involved the acceleration of the deployment of new
technologies emanating from research labs into new start-up companies and industries. Details are
as mentioned below-
1] I was mainly responsible for deciding the quality of a very large number of patents and know-hows
‘developed’ by various research labs. I also created crisp and simplified ‘Technology Marketing
Documents’ after analysing those patents and know-hows so as to initiate ‘technology-transfer’ and
‘commercialization’ discussions with target customers. [Customers that I targeted were mainly
companies working in ‘Metallurgical and material’s engineering’ sector]
2] My second responsibility was to learn data-extraction skills for finding email ids and other contact
details of ‘key decision makers’ in target companies (CEOs, CTOs, and Directors) through use of
precise ‘internet search queries’ and ‘proprietary internet tricks’ (for direct and faster discussions and
sales)
3] Third and most challenging responsibility was to actually conduct geographically extensive
marketing campaigns to seek companies for transferring/selling know-hows, patents and
technologies that were scouted by me

SUCCESSFUL TECH-TRANSFER/COMMERCIALIZATION CAMPAIGNS CONDUCTED BY ME:
1] Transfer and commercialization of a newly patented thermal insulation material technology called
‘Aerogel’ (This will be the first time in India for a company to use this type of material for production)
2] Partial transfer of strategic ‘Diboride Ceramic’ manufacturing technology (This also is the first time)
3] Transfer and commercialization of an ‘Anti-tarnish lacquer’ coating technology (Very useful for
gold, silver and copper alloy industries in India)
Additionally, I ran a major B2B and B2C direct-marketing campaign for a scientist-run start-up
company which is manufacturing the previously-mentioned anti-tarnish chemical/molecule as a
ready-to-use product (Both B2B and B2C marketing campaigns were successful as per the feedback)
List of technology-transfer campaigns that were being conducted by me when I resigned-
1] ‘Iron Chloride’ to ‘Iron Oxide’ conversion technology (This was the only second time in India)
2] ‘Tungsten Sulphide’ and ‘Micronized Graphite’ based solid lubricant material (These are highly
sought material technologies in India and south-east Asia)
We also started campaigns for marketing Intumescent polyurethane foam, Tri-methyl-gallium (solar
and electronics material), Micro-arc oxidation coating, Electro-magnetic machining, Laser drilling,
texturing technologies under my initiative just before I stopped working for my previous company.
