PROJECT DETAILS
US Internet Banking Backend (Previous Project):
The project is about providing product enhancement & support for HSBC Personal Internet Banking,
USA. The website offers functionalities such as Account Summary, Account Details, Registers,
Transfers, Pay Bill and eStatements. The website also interfaces with various subsystems such as
Viewpoint for Check images, Checkfree for bill payments. The P2G website also has features such
as Customer Service, Change Profile, Bankmail etc. The entire Personal Internet Banking system is
distributed into 2 broad divisions, the Front-end and the Host. The Front-end forms the
presentation layer while the Host is the mainframe system that interacts with the backend. MQ
Series and R2DS services are used for communication between the Front-end and the Host.
2. Some of the releases and projects worked upon:
1. Bill Pay Warehouse (Net Banking)
Description
Bill Pay Warehouse (Corillian Payments Warehouse) is a Corillian product (now Fiserv). The
warehouse manages payee, payer, and payment data, communicates with HSBC’s host system,
and interfaces with industry leading payment providers, including MasterCard RPPS and CheckFree.
In addition, the warehouse allows HSBC to internally process On-Us (the HSBC’s products) and
Paper check printing facilities. The warehouse enables HSBC to save cost through On-Us and least
cost routing of payments. Changes involved in the project were both batch and online.
2. One HSBC Account Opening (Net Banking)
Description
Account opening Phase 1 provided following functionality to users.
• People can open accounts in HSBC through branch channel
• Only savings, CD's and checking’s accounts were allowed to open , no credit card
products
• Funding for the account was allowed through check and cash, no wire transfers
• It also sent customer communications through ICCM via, emails n mails
• various post boarding services like ATM card, PIB etc were allowed
Main involvement in this project was BFE components development. These components
were essentially Data retrieval components for AO Ape modules through various
databases.
3. Advance (Net Banking)
Description
This Project aimed at a new section of customers that were between Retail and Premier Customers.
The Project involved changes to online workflow managers to identify Advance
Customers on Net Banking. Front End changes involved were changes to Logo that appeared on
the Logon screen.
4. Bankmail for CD Accounts (Net Banking)
Description
This Project involved sending Bankmail and Email notifications to Net Banking Customers
for their online CD accounts. Notifications such as maturity, Renewal, Withdrawal of CD account.
Changes involved were mainly Batch.
3. 5. One HSBC Core Banking (Net Banking)
Description
This Project involved Transferring Demand Deposit (DDA) and Term Deposit (TDA)
Accounts to HUB. Changes involved were both Batch and online. Batch changes involved
transferring and mapping accounts from Legacy to HUB. Online legacy changes involved changing
processing path for Legacy and HUB converted Accounts for functions such as Transfers, Bill pays
etc.
6. IFS Problem Tracking and GSD (Net Banking)
Description
IFS problem tracking is a repository for Net banking Customer issues which are raised through
Customers Reps. Main activities involved were monitoring the Problem database,
Identifying the issue and fix, Coding & Testing and delivery.
7. IAS Cards (Cards Team)
Description
IAS is CICS application middleware for Customer Rep Frontends such as Toolbars, eChamps, Café,
Raptor. Main involvement in this project was fixing post Cards 2011 Release Incidents.
The activities carried out were monitoring GSD for new Incidents. Analysis, Coding, Testing the fix
and delivery were also involved.
8. Risk Team (Current Project):
Description
Current Project includes managing following Risk Applications:
a) SAS EFM:
SAS EFM is an online decisioning system for credit cards. It provides real time fraud decisioning for
card transactions. SAS EFM interfaces with CMS which is Cards System and provides feedback to it.
It consists of both Mainframe and Midtier systems and is a SAS product.
b) Instinct:
It is a risk product used for finding frauds in credit card applications.
c) Falcon
Falcon is similar to SAS EFM in its functionality. It also interfaces with CMS system and provides
feedback to it.
d) Triad
Triad is a Risk module which is used for scoring and authorizing Credit Card Accounts. Asia Pacific
Triad supports 11 countries from the Asia Pacific Region.
Current Role involves Production Issue Resolution and Business User Query Resolution.
Also involved in the day to day activities of production and development of the project.
Risk Team is also involved in application support for SASEFM and Falcon. Technologies
used in this project are JCL, CICS, COBOL and DB2.
