June, 2014 Clinical Engineer – Perform high level technical,diagnostic,analytical,supervisory and problem-solving
functions to ensure the continuous and effective operation of the medical technology of this nationally
respected hospitaland medical center. St. Francis has achieved a ranking as a Top 100 hospital nationally
for many years. Supervised up to eight Biomedical Technicians on the inspection, maintenance, testing
and repair of biomedical equipment. Develop clinical database applications and clinical configurations.
Serve as Clinical Systems Administrator for ten departments. Collaborate with Network Services and
HospitalInformation systems on systemdevelopment and implementation. Design and develop local area
networks (LAN’s). Conduct product evaluations. Develop standards for alpha and beta testing. On a
rotating basis, 24 hour/day on-call responsibility for 13,000 pieces of medical equipment every fourth
week. HIPAA Committee Member and Security Administrator for clinical systems. Presently playing a
key role in the OR to meet state mandates.
 2014 – Played the key role in the installation and the GO-LIVE of the new Cath Lab.

2.  Played a key role in the introduction and integration ofnetwork services into the clinical engineering
function. Network is now a critical part of the medical center’s backbone.
 Presently tasked to take over the O.R. responsibilities. Assigned to reorganize, restructure, and
enforce “policies and procedures” mandated by the “State of CT.” to meet the states new
requirements. (set by the DPH)
 Very recently worked closely with CV Perfusion to insure their “state” mandated requirements
were accomplished,objectives were met as of February 15th,2010.(DPH set continuous goalssince
July, 2009)
 Wrote hospital coding fora variety of functions. Worked with vendors to achieve hospital objectives.
 Provided analytical advice and clinicalsupportwhich reduced Electrophysiology Lab infectionrates.
 MPM II and APACHE clinical scoring systems used in the ICU.
 Tasked to study a world-wide pattern of Heart-Lung machine failures during open heart surgery.
Attended surgicaloperations. Performed in-depth analysis ofequipment. Identified issues involving
static electricity and electromagnetic fields. Notified manufacturer, and provided short-term and
long-term solutions. Manufacturer flew three engineers from Germany to consult on this matter.
 Installed and implemented several ECG Management systems.
 In 2007, installed two new state of the art Electrophysiology Labs. This installation made the
hospital the number one Stereotaxis Electrophysiological Lab in the country. After installation,
worked in the lab for a month to give advice and assist physicians,nurses and technicians on proper
use of the equipment.
 Expanded ourfour-bed Sleep Studies Lab to six beds. Added two new rooms and installed a six bed
system.
 Implemented a new wireless ECG Management system. Changing vendors, and migrating 700,000
EKG’s from one system to the other.
 Served as Interim Clinical Director on two occasions.
2000 – BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING SERVICES – Cromwell, Connecticut
Present Consultant (Specializing in Sleep Studies) – Performed biomedical engineering services for Sleep Study
Labs. Conducted annual inspections. Made equipment recommendations. Worked with labs to secure
state accreditation.
1989-1990 M.H. RHODES, INC. – Avon, Connecticut
Electronics Engineering Manager – First full-time position after completing bachelor’s degree.
Recruited by the President of this manufacturer of hand-crafted timers, motors and measuring devices to
create the company’s first Electronics Department. Designed electronics control for industrial,
commercial and residential clients. Directed Engineering Technicians, Supervisors and Draftsman.
 Set up Research and Development Laboratory,Electronics Department and production equipment.
 Designed a variety of products, including OEM timing controls and motor controls.
 Submitted products to UL – under UL 508 (Industrial Control Equipment) and UL 464 (Audible
Signal Appliances).
 Traveled to Canada. Submitted products to CSA.
 Designed a timing control that produced the company’s first electronics order (3,000 units) from a
single OEM.
