EXPERIENCE
Graduate Research Assistant
Department of Chemistry, University of Texas at Austin (2009-2015)
Used HPLC and LC-MS/MS to develop methods for the analysis of flavonoids, as well as for the
identification and characterization of proteins using various enzymes for digestion, different forms of
derivatization, and the use of database search algorithms (traditional and de novo sequencing).
Mass Spectrometry Facility Graduate Assistant:
Chemistry Department Mass Spectrometry Facility (2013-2014)
In the fall of 2013 and spring of 2014 aided in the day to day operation of the departmental mass
spectrometry facility, which consisted of the analysis of submitted samples (both organic and inorganic in
nature) via electrospray ionization, chemical ionization, and matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization,
as well as maintenance of triple quadrupole, magnetic sector, and FT-ICR mass spectrometers.
Teaching Assistant:
Department of Chemistry, University of Texas at Austin (2009-2015)
Oversaw general and analytical chemistry labs, instructed students on proper lab techniques, and guided
students through various experiments designed to deepen their understanding of chemistry.
National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates:
University of Arkansas (Summer 2008)
Principal Investigator: Charles L. Wilkins
Used laser desorption/ionization coupled with FT-ICR MS to analyze thin film polymers deposited on
silicon.
EXPERIENCE CONTINUED
Robotham 2
Supply Management Specialist United States Air Force National Guard:
155th Air Refueling Wing, Lincoln NE (2004-2010)
Maintained aircraft parts as well as personal protective equipment for all base personal to ensure base
readiness; this included the ordering, storage, and delivery of equipment as needed, as well as outfitting
new airman with proper gear, and tracking the status of time sensitive materials.
In the summer of 2007, ensured various airmen deployed with proper protective gear, and maintaining
efficient day to day operations, while the Mobility Bags Section Supervisor was on a leave of absence.
