The Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® (OAR) and the Oklahoma Economic Development Council (OEDC) have partnered to create a compelling visual tool to illustrate why companies and people should move to Oklahoma. The circles of education, lifestyle and economy affirm why Oklahoma is a great place to live.
Elaine Harrington, Special Collections Librarian, uses case studies to discuss the different types of engagement she has with academic staff and students in relation to Special Collections. Case studies will include show & tell class visits to Special Collections, modules that use specific methodologies for both undergraduates and postgraduates, exhibitions and events.
This presentation was given as part of UCC's Instructional Design TEL Tasters 2017 programme.
Museums are Places that are Quietly SubversiveWest Muse
Has your museum ever tried to engage audiences in controversial topics, moderate discussions about social movements, or introduce inclusive practices only to be stymied by your board or director? Does it feel impossible for your museum to be an advocate for social justice issues? This session is informed by the growing movement of museums and museum professionals working to dispel the myth of institutional neutrality or nonpartisanship, the reality of museum professionals who can’t overtly address controversial topics, and a belief that “museums are places that are quietly subversive.”
