An academic liaison librarian describes their role at a university library that was facing budget cuts and staff losses. The arrival of a new principal and library director led to the creation of two new liaison librarian positions to develop information literacy programs, act as contacts between schools and the library, and help reprofessionalize the library. As liaison librarians, their responsibilities included collaborating with colleagues, delivering instruction, developing outreach strategies, and providing subject support across many disciplines, despite being only two people. They worked to raise the library's profile through teaching, communication, and new technologies. However, issues remained regarding their role within the changing library structure and landscape.

The project that was initiated by her with the library of the Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem is to
be highlighted. During her stay in Jerusalem, Ms Wolf reviewed historical and valuable book
stocks of the Dormition monastery and entered the information in the library system BIS C-2000.
Ms Wolf showed high self-initiative, identified herself fully with her duties and the library itself,
whereby she consistently demonstrated her enthusiasm and sense of purpose. She is equipped
with exceptional, extensive professional knowledge, which Ms Wolf continously implemented
with huge success in her range of duties. Ms Wolf was highly capable, and was able to
immediately address difficult situations and quickly find the right solutions. It is also important
to accentuate her sagacity, which enabled her even in difficult cases to make autonomous
decision. In addition, the management of new challenges were consistently handled very well
and reliably.
Ms Wolf steadily showed great diligence and enthusiasm. She was extremely resilient, flexible
and imaginative. The skills that are especially required for cataloging are accuracy and precision.
Ms Wolf accomplished these requirements entirely and managed her duties always with great
independance and personal responsibility. She has shown her very good organizational qualities
in the optimization of the stacks. As a result of her reorganization of the collections, the library
gained additional space in the stacks. Her work results were, even when faced with challenges, at
all times of very good quality. Due to her outstanding project work in Jerusalem, a very good and
efficient partnership between the libraries was built, which exists today.
She has done her assigned duties at all times to the fullest satisfaction.
Her behavior to superiors, colleagues and external individuals was always excellent. She was
friendly and accomodating. Ms Wolf gets along well with others, is willing to cooperate, and
therefore worked continually well and successfully in the team.
On her own accord, Ms Wolf concluded her employment on January 31, 2014. We deeply regret
her decision, because we lost a valuable employee. We thank her for her exceptionally good
work and wish her, both professionally and personally, all the best, much success and God's
blessing.
