I am re-joining the work-force after 8 years spent caring for children/elderly parent. Before that I spent 25 years at the award-winning adventure travel company, Wilderness Travel in Berkeley, CA where as Operations Manager I worked helped develop systems and company culture, training and overseeing 8 Area Managers (geographic 'areas'), 100+ different itineraries of multiple departures each in a hectic, but rewarding work environment. During my tenure, we had very little turn-over as staff under my supervision often stayed 15+ years. I am not attached to a career in travel and leisure, but I'd certainly entertain opportunities along with other fields where my skill-set may be put to good use.

I was born in Los Angeles and after five years of traveling extensively around the world in my
twenty’s decided on a career in the travel industry. My love for tropical islands drew me
towards the South Pacific. I quickly focused my efforts and landed a position with Newman’s
South Pacific Vacations in 1984. As they say, the rest is history! I continued to expand my
product knowledge and expertise and grew into a variety of sales roles in Los Angeles, Chicago,
and Australia.
For the past thirty years, I have been employed with wholesale travel companies, hotel
representation companies and tourist boards. My roles have been varied between sales,
marketing, and operations. My strong areas have always been sales and marketing.
In September of 2009 I launched my own business; Roberts Representation. I have established
a strong travel agent following in both wholesale and retail and built excellent working
relationships with the key players. I’m certain that my existing relationships and understanding

I then moved to manage the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, National Tourism Office, based
in Los Angeles. Our focus was on increasing awareness to the Cook Islands and converting
interest into firm travel. I created, marketed, managed and orchestrating a yearly ten city Cook
Islands travel agent road show. Additionally, though my PR network we received a full front
page color editorial in the Los Angeles Times Travel Section.
