Naaman, a commander in the Aramean army, was a mighty warrior but suffered from leprosy. The king of Aram told Naaman to visit the prophet Elisha in Israel for a cure. Elisha instructed Naaman to wash seven times in the Jordan River, and he was healed of his leprosy. Naaman, initially angered by the simple cure, was convinced by his officers to obey Elisha. He washed as instructed and was healed.
