This document provides a history of the Vanlancker family restaurants in Brussels, Belgium. It discusses how Leon Vanlancker opened his first restaurant, A la Ville d'Anvers, in 1888 near the Grand Place in Brussels. In 1893, he opened the famous Chez Leon restaurant. In 1921, the Veulemans family opened the rival restaurant Aux Armes de Bruxelles across from Chez Leon. In 2018, the Vanlancker family took over operation of Aux Armes from the Veulemans family. The document promotes both Chez Leon and Aux Armes as establishments serving authentic Belgian cuisine for over 130 years.

Restaurant CHEZ LEON based in Brussels since 1893.
• But did you know that – in 1888 - the first restaurant that Mr
Leon VANLANCKER has created was « A la Ville d’Anvers » located
a few meters from the actual CHEZ LEON !
• A casual restaurant serving simple and authentic Belgian

brewed in
