This document outlines an individual's personal definition of respect which includes treating others as you would like to be treated according to the Golden Rule. It also provides examples of how to respect parents by helping around the house, teachers by listening and only speaking when called on, authority figures by obeying rules and laws, friends and classmates by listening to them and being a positive role model, and teammates by following directions and giving full effort at all times.

Parents
To better respect my
parents I will assist my
father when he needs help
working around the house
and clean up after myself
so my mother will not
need to when she gets
home from work.

4. Respecting my
Teachers
To better respect my
teachers I will listen to all
instructions and not speak
unless I am called upon.

5. Respecting those in
Positions of Authority
My personal definition of
authority figure:
Any person given the right
to make decisions and
enforce rules for the
betterment of society.
I will obey people in
positions of authority by
obeying rules and the laws
wherever I am.

I will respect my friends
and classmates by
listening to them and being
a good role model (having
a positive impact on them)
in and out of school.
