The expression and gesture of an artist worth more than action, in today’s culture Artistic expression pays a civilly prevalent. In today’s society dance plays a very important role, to communicate their ideas through various medium. The variety form of dance use the oldest expressions from the culture, and experiment it in a new style. For many in the society dance are entertainment, education, stress release, and a form of worship. Beyond everything in life the thoughts of dance and art serves a greater purpose, artist believes that dance denotes the meaning of tradition and the results of its expression depicts the reaction of culture on society. Dance is an initiation of culture and tradition to the human torso in its most raw form, whether one is bringing up their hand or performing in ballet, in whatever way the artist is holding out and holding back the tradition and style alive.

Leonardo Diana, born in 1978.
His dance teachers have included Angela TorrianiEvangelisti, SimonaBucci, Paolo Mereu, Charlotte
Zerbey, Alessandro Certini, , Jacqueline Davenport, Susan Barnet,Eugenio Scigliano and Aurora
Benelli. He has participated in workshops with Franco Di Francescantonio, Gabriella Bartolomei,
Carolyn Carlson, Susanne Linke, Julien Hamilton, Richard Haisma, Beatrice Libonati, Micha Van
Hoecke and Tanya Khabarova.
For five years he has undertaken a course for professional contemporary dancers in the Nikolais
technique, directed by SimonaBucci and Paolo Mereu. He studies release technique and contact
improvisation with Charlotte Zerbey and Alessandro Certini.
From 2003 he has danced for the Associazione Versiliadanza by Angela TorrianiEvangelisti. In
summer 2004 he took part in the Versiliadanza performance AssaggidiPotere - Macht Das Was?,
choreographed by Susanne Linke. In 2005 he collaborated in the triennial Versiliadanza project,
presenting a solo at various festivals. In the same year he graduated in scenography from the
l'Accademiadi Belle Arti in Florence. In 2007 he shows his first solo “Verso la Luce” at the Festival
“FabbricaEuropa” inside the project MOVING_movimento. From 2008 he started a coproduction
between Versiladanza and an Armenian company.
In 2009/2010 he worked for the tanz company of Bremen Theater under the direction of Urs
Dietrich. He took part in the performances “Dividendo” choreographed by Urs Dietrich and in
“Double Lives” with the choreography of Tero Saarinen.
In 2011 he has presented a new production “Researching-and the Man created Himself” for the
final of “PremioEquilibrio Roma” and in different international festivals as “FabbricaEuropa, in
Florence” and “Lunatica Festival”.
From 2004 became part of the company Porte Girevoli working with the director Claudio Cinelli,
to create various performances of puppets theatre, both in Italy and further afield.
