Bauer Publishing was founded in Germany in 1875 and entered the US media market in 1981 by launching the successful magazine Woman's World. The company has been family-run for generations, with Heinz Bauer as chairman and his daughter Yvonne controlling the company as CEO. One of Bauer's first magazine products in 1926 was the radio magazine Rundfunk-Kritik. Since then, Bauer has expanded from publishing a few magazines in Germany to hundreds worldwide and has become involved in digital media, radio, and television.
