1. Denali National Park
Have you ever wondered what things looked like
from the tallest mountain in the united states?Well
you can go see at the 6 million acre Denali National
Park and preserve.
The mountain known as Mount McKinley was
discovered in a gold rush.It was discovered by many
settlers and it was discovered in 1897.It was
established in 1917.It is located in South Central
Alaska.Because of glacier movement
there is foreign soil that allows ancient plants to
grow.It is why the mountains are here today.Denali
National Park preserves animals and plants.
There are many many animals in Denali. There are
over 360 species of plants and lichen etc. There are 49
species of mammals. There are only 10 species of fish
and amphibians.Out of all of those animals there is
not any reptiles throughout the whole park. The
climate is to harsh for any reptiles to live there. There
are over 450 species of trees and shrubs.
There is not much culture in Denali but the
northern lights come up and a long time ago the
settlers use to praise the northern lights. They are a
2. spectacular sight to see!Mount McKinley was formed
by glaciers and about 1/3 of the park is covered in
glaciers today.
Denali is facing many challenges today but one of
the worst things that is happening today is global
warming.Which is causing another problem of
extinction.Extinction is also being caused by all-terrain
vehicles and hunters as well.Mining use to be a
problem when they did it because they were worried
that they would go out of the boundaries.
Denali is very important to Alaska because it is
helping preserve animals and plants and is a great
sight. So pack your bags and see if you can take on
the challenge of climbing the 20,320 foot freezing cold
spectacular Mount McKinley.
